Sunwayman C23C Driver Boost

Hello, i want more power in my Sunwayman C23C. Original has approximately ~3 amperes, I would like to about ~4.5 amperes. Is bounded on the red arrow to the resistance of the maximum current?

What resistance I can solder on top by about 4.5 amps to get?

Sorry for my bad english ;)

Or is the resistance with the inscription of R015, which is responsible for the maximum current? Picture: Bild: 20160522_223903qubke.jpg - abload.de

I have very limited knowledge here, but maybe I can help get things started.

I believe R015 is the current sense resistor. If you want to increase from 3 amps to 4.5, that is a %50 jump. for this increase you would need to halve the resistance by adding another R015 on top of the existing one. This is only in theory, as the resistance of the circuit and power from the battery will rarely allow for much more increase using a buck driver as is pictured. (I think it is buck anyway?)

I have done some resistor mods on these types of drivers. I would guess that if you halved the resistance as stated above, that you will get an increase of .3 amps when using an 18650. However, with cr123s I think you will get nearly the same amps from the 6v battery as with the 3.7v battery. This means that you will get close to 4amps or more at the emitter with this mod and two cr123a.

Anyway, This has been my experience with the Olight s30, Manker u11, and Skillhunt ho2.

Oh ya. I forgot to add. This may burn up your driver. I don’t know the specks of each component and so too much bump might fry it…

Okay thanks

Have you ever tried it with 2 R015?

I don’t have your driver, but doubling the sense resistor on the lights I’ve tested gives similar results to what I listed above.

I soldered a R025 on top of the R015 it’s = 11% more lumens.

Are you sure that driver can handle so much current?

Yes, i let the C23C a few times get really hot, no problems.
