Hi are you sure the G20C is High (1000 lumens, 1 hr); Mid (150 lumens, 6 hrs ); Low (16 lumens, 80 hrs ); Strobe ?? The 1000 lumens has no stepdown?
The low is 16 lumens??? It looks more like 100 lumens to me. Can you confirm it is 16 lumens? Thanks

Hello,
Yes, there is no step-down of the High mode.
As to low, it’s tested 16 lumens, thanks.

What do you guys think???

I don’t believe it. It probably isn’t a hard step down, but I guarantee it dwindles over the entire runtime. So do you own this light? If it’s anything like the g25c… Which the specs are very similar… Expect the high to be overrated and the low to be significantly higher than advertised.

The low advertised as 80 hours (80/10hours per day) should have translated in me being able to use it for one week.
Unfortunately, it didnot go past 3 days. I will check again with a fully recharged cell. I have emailed them again.

Maybe the extra mass helps?

Pretty sure the low on mine was 60-80 lumens.

Anyone ever test this out?

My D80a is rated at 33 lumens on low but I’m sure it is comparable to my V10A on high i.e > 100 lumens. Why on earth would they underrate low?

Because light for a long time can be a life-critical feature.
Many people know that can be vital in an emergency, so it’s a sales talking point.

In law, puffery is a promotional statement or claim that expresses subjective rather than objective views, which no “reasonable person” would take literally. Puffery serves to “puff up” an exaggerated image of what is being described and is especially featured in testimonials.

This thread needs a pic of the light…

People find it so hard to put pictures in threads, yet it is so easy.

Nice looking light, curious to see the output plot on high, presumably a ski slope.

Except that they underrate the runtime of my D80A too: 33 lumens for 18 hours. Well I got 26 hours from mine, at what I think is > 100 lumens. Odd. I can see they might want to claim a long runtime on low.

Anyone tested this light on low? Is it really 16 lumen?

I did a comparison with my quark. G20C low is almost the same as quark on medium, which i believe is around 22 otf. But g20c has a bigger smooth reflector and xml u2. It might actually be around 16 lumen like Sunwayman claimed.

How can manufacturers claim run-times for a torch, anyway ? The light isn’t a power source.
The cells dictate the run time.

Many manufacturers now state the Mah of the batteries used for testing but like fuel mileage ratings they should be taken as a guide and not gospel.

Totally agree.
