Supercat!

I live near Bakersfield, California and I saw this on the local news.

The reason I am sharing this is because my sister has a black cat named Pantera.

Although Pantera befriends some dogs, she is quite dauntless, and she chases away dogs many times her size.

I'm not sure if Pantera would save my almost-four-year-old niece from a dangerous animal, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Pantera ----> Attack Attack :evil:

I am very allergic to cats, so I usually hate them. This cat however is a hero, just don’t bring it around me.

I’d still find that dog if I were the boys father. It should be put down.

I think that been on all the news channels in the US, probably a lot outside the US already.

great pet!

Awesome!

Wow, I never expected that from a cat, really cool!

Cat power!

What is it with dogs attacking children these days? ;_;

Give that cat a medal of honor.

How about some FancyFeast cat food? I see cats in a whole new light now. Bravo!

The heart of a lion.

Notice when the cat gets to the opposite side of the car (near the end of the clip), its like a WTF moment for the cat. Hits the skids and makes a proud, but hasty retreat. Not only brave, but smart.

I read that it is given to the authorities to be killed…

This story, and video, has made it to all the TV news stations in the UK, including the BBC. The kid was still badly bitten, but it would have been a lot worse

Reminds me of the time I was followed home when out with my dog (on a lead) by a young stray doberman. We surprised a cat on the street, and the doberman went for it, only for the cat to stand it’s ground, and produce it’s claws. Doberman had second thoughts. :smiley:

I read recently a pitbull (mix?) that killed a small boy could not be put down because of protests by some animal group.

I really don’t blame the dog, it’s the owners who need the slap. That said, if any animal harmed my boy it wouldn’t be alive for long after. If authorities wouldn’t or couldn’t, I would.

Its a predator instinct for a small and easy prey that moves. That why always its dangerous to have a dog with childs.

I saw this one too. Very Cool Kat indeed.

Way to go Supercat!!

That cat must be cloned, she’s a keeper.

If that cat has grown up with that boy and she doesn't have any kittens, then it's just natural instinct to protect what she feels is hers.

We add on so many emotions to natural things that happen.

The dog's attack, the cat's defense. It's all very natural to them.

That’s incredible. That cat rocks!

I just want to know why the person that recorded the incident didn’t stop recording to go help the kid. He could have been permanently maimed or killed.
