Surprise Wurkkos HD04

A surprise package arrived yesterday: a Wurkkos HD04.

I did not order it, nor do I recall seeing this model before. Yet the shipping and contact information is correct.

I have no idea how, from whom, or why this was sent to me… So confused.

Sent a message to @Wurkkos and @Wurkkos_Terry

Did anyone else get a mystery package? Was there some giveaway that I forgot about?

3 Thanks

I got one, too. I’m not a reviewer nor influencer.

And so the plot thickens

No email from them. I just checked my account on their website, no messages about this and my last order was in March. I haven’t bought a ton of stuff from them.

I would think if they give away something free like this they would ask for some publicity, but I haven’t heard anything. Seems pretty strange.

Yes, I got one as well, without prior notice or any message at all. Fun light!

@James_C
You can find the publicity here and reddit and YouTube and TikTok and Instagram and … And they didn’t even have the ask for it.

maybe you guys made some prior contribution to the R&D, and this is their appreciation?

I’m also not an influencer but I’ve purchased several dozen Wurkkos lights in the past 12 months (many for family, way too many for myself). I didn’t get a surprise in the mail though.

could be random sendouts but that seems strange they would do without any notice ?

Light Angel?

After several days of no response, I decided to open the package. Really strange to be sent a product with no notice, not even a note. Hope the folks at Wurkkos are all right!

As for the HD04: Fun little light!

RGB modes are the special novelty of this little gadget. Leaving it on in RGB breathing or continuous cycling modes creates a nice ambiance.

The battery life is not mentioned for RGB modes but I doubt it needs much thought as it is not pushing 750 (!?) lumens which they state for the spotlight turbo.

And even though the battery is just 600 mAh, a bit less than a typical AAA, it is still practical with its clip, highly rotatable neck which allows positioning the light in any desired direction, plus a magnet in the base that isn’t mentioned.

The USB C port does not have a cover, yet it states IPX6 rating, so I’d be careful about water. The light can be operated even while charging, in spotlight and floodlight modes (at a medium-ish brightness) and in RGB in seemingly every mode.

There are strobe modes as well but thankfully accessing those requires a triple click in the UI. Also, there is a triple click shortcut from OFF in RGB mode to get to a blinking red light, which could be practical for cyclists, etc.

Seems like a gimmick light at first, but it’s fun, and ends up finding many cute little uses!

OMG just realized the plastic body glows in the dark! So many hidden little bonus features!

2 Thanks

wow that is neat hahah.

That is very neat indeed. At the moment I’ve got a Wurkkos HD15 angle light with an 18350 tube as my permanent EDC.
Or as they say: and everywhere that my jack went, the light was sure to go. But with the HD04 there’s certainly a new kid on the block.

1 Thank

Clearly mine is lost in the mail because ….

I see nothing

2 Thanks

Haha, mine must be hanging out with yours, wherever it is.

I got two! Didn’t request them for review either, but thanks Wurkkos! “Input!”

they must have accidentally send mine to you lol. I’m curious what their criteria is. I have purchased so many wurkkos lights in the past year, but I did so through multiple wurkkos stores across AliEx, wurkkos.com and kickstarter so maybe I didn’t rate.

Must have been a random pick. I’ve had plenty from Wurkkos.com and an account running from the start.

Nearly pressed ‘Buy’ on the sales release today, but honestly can’t justify another light on interest value alone.

Same. I like the magnetic base and the very rotatable head but… not today.
