Hello all im in a tight going hunting tonight t28 takes battery thats not 18650 battery that came with it gave out and im a long ways from anywhere Anychance someone can help me get it to work with 18650 with blacktape and pocket knife thanks.

You can just wrap the cell with, say, a folded-over napkin to act as a sleeve and keep it centered in the tube, but there might not be enough (or any) pressure from the spring in the head and/or tailcap to make up for the shorter 18650.
You can try it to see if it reaches, but…
The battery that comes with the T28 is a 21700 with built-in USB-C charging. It’s a good 1cm longer than a standard 18650.
I tried a Wurkkos 18650 in the T28 and it does not turn on, even though the flashlight has springs on both ends.
If it’s going to work at all with 18650, it will need a conductive spacer for length as well as some kind of sleeve for width.
Then what I’ve done in the past but only for my own purposes (ie, don’t sic any lowyers on me if the cell goes supernova and turns the light into a pipeboemb) is to squoosh down a crunkled-up ball of Al-foil into a cylinder to use as a spacer in a dead tail (eg, MH20).
The Artemis has not just a switched tail, but a “smart” tail with the dial-thingy, so I’d be especially careful fudging something like that.
