Tactical Light Rating

I’ve suggested something like this in a few other threads.

The “TACTICAL” light that I’m always looking for is the one that gets the most light down range the quickest.

I suggest a Tactical rating system. Something like this:

From lockout.

Draw from pocket or belt to Turbo, under 1second = Excellent,
under 2 seconds = Good,
under 3 seconds = Fair,
more than 3 seconds = fail.

Thoughts/ideas?

Why would you lock out a light intended for tactical use? Does your rating include a factor for the likely hood of the wrong button sequence causing issues?

I would never do it, at least on purpose, but you could find it happen accidentally. And that’s the answer to your second question. I’d want to see how easy it is to do in the worse case scenario.

Ok. Anduril worst case scenario - it’s dim when you hold down the switch. Is it locked out, or in momentary mode with a low threshold? Probably 30 seconds to figure out what’s going on.

There’s a reason any “tactical” light just won’t have a lockout.

P18: hold the switch down and it’s in turbo.
Any tactical Armytek: tighten the head and turn it on for turbo.

I agree completely!

Though I have loosened the tail cap on mine on a few occasions to prevent it from going off accidently and giving away my position.

The E lock out is my biggest knock against the Olight M2R.
