tail cap reading skyray king help

HI ,i recently bought a sky king but i dont think it is one of the good ones ,can anyone tell me the best(easiest) way to take tail cap readings any info would b appreciated…

A strap wrench or some similar method should take the tailcap off. Myself, I just held two cells against the driver (body removed) and held a paper clip across both cell bottoms then put my leads in place (one to outer ring of driver). It wasn't easy, risks shorting, but worked. Someone posted a Pic of doing this in another thread.

You might be able to unscrew the bottom cap by hand. Mine wasn’t very tight. Then remove the 4 Phillips screws holding the bottom battery plate (part with springs). The plate is now free to pull out. The plate is what connects the negative part of the batteries to the flashlight body. With it out of the way, you can hold a piece of metal against the battery bottoms and then use the DMM leads to make the connection between the piece of metal to the non-anodized part of the flashlight body where the bottom plate attached to the body by the screws you removed.

Kind of funny. I just finally pulled apart my SRK today that I bought a long time ago on ebay. The driver is different from the 2 I have been seen on this forum so far. It has one toroidal inductor and a big through-board capacitor. It is labeled XY-121205. My light is just a little brighter than a stock TR-3T6. Could be due to terribly thin wires, resistance in the tail springs, and only 2 screws holding the bottom battery plate. The logo on the head of my flashlight has hollow outlined letters. If yours is like this, please report back your readings.

Please charge your batteries to 4.20v and retest. At 3.7v they are very weak.

Thanks for the replys ,i had to use a pipe shifter to get the cap off ,it looks like it was stuck with red threadlock.Confirmed what i was afraid of ,its only 3.78a on high with fully charged xtar 2600mah,pile of s—-h—e. :_( This was one from fancyflashlights.
EDIT redone using copper washer and 4 smaller washers,gone upto 5.2,but is still low most what i read are getting high 6-8a.
