Tailcap from a SP35T in a Wurkkos TS22??

I feel like this is something I should share.
I saw something in a video by Marc Gossling that blew my mind and had to try it.

The tail cap of the SP35T works perfectly with the Wurkkos TS22! I couldn’t believe myself I had never tried… even the momentary function works flawlessly.

I swapped a warm XHP70.3 HI in the Ts22 and now is my daily carry.

And the funny thing is that that video was a review about the Trustfire T40R

I even ordered a new tailcap from sofirn.

I’ll link the video so you guys can see.

Nice. I wish more tailcaps were interchangeable.

One tip, make sure to be really, really, REALLY specific when requesting a tailcap from sofirn. I mean REALLY specific. As clear as possible.

This is clear enough right?

Nope…

To their credit I got a full refund

Oh, man, I hate it when I order one thing and receive something that I did not order instead.
I’m glad that you got a full refund, though. :+1:

The “no spring” “no spring?” exchange made me laugh haha.

They made a new listing just for the cap so I think I’m safe.

Maybe.

Hope it comes with the spring!

The big downside is that it doesn’t modify how the side switch works, so imo you really aren’t gaining anything.
The thing I like about dual switch lights is you don’t have to do the “press and hold” to change modes, you just press the side switch once after turning on with the tail switch.
With this ts22/sp35t hybrid doing that will turn the light off…

It all depends what you look for in a light. As a duty light, I barely ever change modes. But it is of the upmost importance that a light have a tail switch with momentary on to be able to quickly find the button and do short bursts of light.
The TS22 went from being a shelf queen to my current favorite and most used EDC light.

Have this tailswitch some declared current (amperage) ?
How many ampers should live with everyday use ?

Did you try the water resistance? No issues with it, seals properly?

We’re very glad to have you here, Dacaur & Utryl!

I have not tested no. But I believe is a non brainer. It feels very snug on the o ring and will probably be fine.

Looks like the Sofrin tail is just a mechanical disconnect for the battery, like unscrewing the tailcap (hence the odd UI where tail and side switches sont work fully independently). So, I assume it works in any light that the threads fit.

Hi all, I just bought a TS22 (still waiting for the delivery) and I would be keen to have the tail switch.

Do you know if the tailcap switch from Sofirn SC28 would work too?

I can’t find the SP35T tailcap, but the SC28 complete flashlight is currently on sale on Amazon at 15£ and it may worth the slight extra-cost having also the flashlight and a spare battery…

Thanks

Just sharing.. Some of wurkkos/sofirn light utilize pure electrical coding to engage, rather than mechanical circuit breaker.
For example this lego-mod wont work with the SP35, SC18/WK03, IF25.. so better check first.

Well, in my case I would need just a mechanical circuit braker. While it’s clear that the SP35T work in that way, I was curious to understand if the SC28 tail switch works in the same way and if the thread is compatible.

Anyway I missed the limited time offer for now, but if I can have feedback I will keep it monitored…

I believe it will work( sc28 tail switch).
Good luck :+1:t4:

You can also use the Convoy tactical tailcap on the TS22
