Tax Return Time!! *What You Buying With Your Tax $$$?*

Hey it’s that time of year again. Some hate it and some love it. If you’re getting some $$$, what ya getting? :money_mouth_face:

I splurged and got a Hakko FX600 so I can solder like a Pro. Plus essential oils from Thailand cuz you never know when you want your room smelling like Ylang Ylang oil.

We owe the feds and the state, but not a whole lot so tax time is neither a plus or a minus, other than time spent on record keeping. Personally I would rather owe a little than have a refund.

Paid a fair bit of taxes last year so getting a decent return, but more than likely going to save/invest it rather than use it. Already set aside an annual budget for the year for random things and if thats exceeded then till next year. :innocent:

I owe federally and state… So you can guess where my stimulus check is going.

I’m using my tax refund for………………Taxes!
What a country.

Yeh, they’re giving with one hand and yanking it back (and more) with the other.

“Stimulus”… they can shizzle my dizzle.

The usual reason anyone gets a tax refund is that they had too much withheld from their wages. Is that not correct? Yes, there can be other reasons but if the income level is known more or less accurately it is possible to make a good estimate.and not overpay at all. The IRS allows one to underpay by 10% without a penalty. There are a couple other rules that may apply too. I just absolutely dislike paying the taxman more than necessary as they don’t pay you any interest on the amount you overpaid. Better to have it in a savings account that pays you.

At least you’re getting a check. Where I live, San Francisco, wages are high to compensate for cost-of-living so nobody I know is getting a stimulus check. It would be fairer to factor in cost-of-living to the income threshold but that’s not what the govt wanted to do.

It would be better to flee that city as I did in 1988 and enjoy the free state of Texas.

I wouldn’t mind moving and have thought about Nevada, but my wife doesn’t want to leave SF. I was born here and things have really changed. And not for the better in my opinion. All of the nearby gun stores and ranges have closed and that really depresses me :frowning:

I am going to spend the money that I get from the government on several different flashlights that are single 21700 with triple XHP 50.2 emitters, and large flashlights that have multiple SBT90.2 emitters.

I miss Traders in San Leandro but I don’t miss the poop on the street or sidewalk. My total taxes are way lower and the gun selections are much better. Live free and cost less.

I used to shop at Traders quite a bit since they had a good selection of firearms and related goods. Unfortunately they were shut down due to firearms that couldn’t be accounted for (several thousand if I recall correctly) as well as other FFL alleged violations. It certainly was in a rundown part of the city but no doubt that area is now upscale after all these years.

The gun store I really missed is the San Francisco Gun Exchange that was located in downtown San Francisco. Great selection and friendly knowledgeable sales people but sadly closed in 1999 :frowning:
