Can DMM Aneng AN8008 UNI-T UT210E and UNI-T UT18C safely be used to measure voltage on a car batteri? Should I just first put the plus (+) probe on the plus pole and then the negative probe (-) on the car batteries negative pole? Which of these meters would fit best and is safest for that job?
When a new car battery comes partly charged (storage charged 60 %?) how many amps should it first be charged at? 8 amps too much? Or better use 2 amps for first time charge? Battery is 74 Ah.
Is it better for a new battery to firstly charge it outside the car, with both /- clamps to the batteries/- poles? Or could I finely charge it by first mount the new storage charged battery in the car and put the plus clamp to the plus pole, and then the negative (black / blue) to the body work / engine block as earthing ground? Is it high risk to instead also put plus clamp to the plus pole, even if the battery is already mounted in the cars engine room? Or could I finely charge it that way too?
I’m using this Biltema 8A car charger https://www.biltema.dk/bil—-mc/bilbatterier/batteriladere/batterilader-12-v-8-a-2000040408
That charger also has a Winter mode with higher voltage 14.7V, to be used under 5 degrees Celsius. Is it better to use when it’s cold?
This is the car battery https://www.biltema.dk/bil—-mc/bilreservedele/elsystem/bilbatterier/batteri-12v-74ah-2000038652
Thank you!
