Test/Review of Fujitsu Alkaline G+ AA

Fujitsu Alkaline G+ AA

Official specifications:

  • Nominal voltage: 1.5V
  • Chemistry: Alkaline
  • Weight: 24g

High power alkaline from Fujitsu.

I do not really see any improvements from the "G" battery with my tests.

Measured down to 1V the capacity is exactly the same as the G battery, but below 1V it is better.

Conclusion

This cell is supposed to be better than the Fujitsu G cell, but I cannot see that in my test.

Thanks HKJ for yet Another review!

Many of us won’t buy a product unless it’s been OK’d by you, so we do value all your hard work.

We need your tests to cut through all the Marketing “Hype”.

Many Thanks.

Thanks for yet another descriptive review, HKJ ;)!

Now, waiting for Gearbest to send you Xiaomi alkalines for review and you to publish it :D!
However, given that they are made by Maxell, perhaps nothing extraordinary should be exptected about their performance?

Is there at least one kind of alkaline battery that could potentially deliver at 1A close to what NiMh or lithium primaries can?

A big one! (A Alkaline D cell can easily match a NiMH or Lithium AA cell at 1A)

The alkaline chemistry do not work well at higher currents.

Well, at least something, a D cell :D!

Will it also lose as much as AA sized cells or will be on par with NiMh in regards of Wh?

Thanks ;)!

You can read my result from a D cell here: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Panasonic%20Pro%20Power%20D%20UK.html

Wow, at 1A two times less capacity than at 0.1A, still lots of lost energy there :D!

Sure, those 8+Ah dont go anywhere and can be used with, say, low or moonlight mode in a flashlight.

Thank you very much, HKJ, much appreciated :)!

Thanks for the review! 0.1A rate capacity is great.

This makes me reconsider using Eneloops in place of high quality alkalines for low draw applications such as remotes and door e-locks, in these cases the more expensive eneloop does not offer any higher performance.

It really comes to cost per battery in case of alkalines and if they will leak or not+cost of NiMh and charger.
