Well better late than never i think the saying goes. If i will finish i am not sure. This is the official build thread for Everydaysurvivalgear my entry is in the hand built contest for the 10th Annual Old Lumens challenge. I wanted to make a hexagon shape light but apparently my mitre box had other ideas lol i think you need a 45 degree angel and not a 90 degree …

I think I have components and tentative plans for four lights and a laser… I just haven’t had any time to work on them.

If I do anything in time for OL10, it will have to be a one-day project and post. There’s a keychain type light I’ve been meaning to build that I might be able to do quick enough.

A New Challenger Approaches… Well, the hour grows late my friends, very late indeed… The contest closes in scarce few days and I’m sidling up to the entry gate with an empty handed swagger… but wait… what’s that in my pocket? No it’s not a flashlight. At least, not yet… Just bits and pieces of what may become a nightlight. After all, though the hour is late, that is the time we most let our lights shine, no? Let me regale you with the story of how I came to be here. We’ll skip over the noness…

Making the most of the next couple days to get to the finish line! It will be close. Already up past 4am once I committed to getting the post up last night… but that’s what I get for not making up my mind to join earlier!

I recently finished putting an SFT-40 in a brass FW3A with an OP reflector and stock bezel (with a 2mm spacer). This is a last minute entry so I’ll keep it brief. I didn’t take any good before pictures but first step was to remove the triple PCB and drill two holes for the single emitter. The price was good so I got two of them. The original Sofirn SF22 has 16 XM-L2 leds and can use 2x or with the extension tube 4x 26650 batteries.
