I mentioned it last fall about planning a Weekend Flashaholic Meet/Camp Weekend, ( possibly a Annual event open to everyone,
Then it was thought about host it in June, but due to work loads and busy schedules it was not possible. So now i’m looking to plan it for a weekend in September.
This will be a similar event/meet like the PF Event held in Pennsylvania each year, ( for the last 15-plus years), but held in Southern Ontario, Canada at a Conservation park campsites.
- The event/meet will run from Friday until Sunday, and open to all flashaholics, members of BLF, TFF, CPF, and other forums and flashlight enthusiasts.
There are 10 to 11 members on the CPF forum and here on the BLF forum who very interested in this event and attending so far.
- There will be available open camp sites for the event for those who with to stay the entire weekend. it will include BBQs, Flashlight & Lantern giveaways, a Mod/building table with tools, a trading-post table, Lux testing bench, displays, several Beamshot photo-shoots & competitions for various classes of lights with prizes, discussions on lights, Campfires and trail walks with lights, and more.
I will provide my RV as a base camp, along with tents for others who wish to stay or need them.
much of the planning and original cost i will provide, so all the attendees will need to bring is their camping gear (if staying the entire weekend) basic camping supplies, and your Lights arsenal.
i will also provide a breakfast buffet on one of the mornings.
If we can gather enough interest in this meet/event, can begin the planning and post more details on the weekend.
- For now i am looking to see who would be interested in the event, and what weekend of September would work best for everyone.
You could fly here to attend it ( kidding)
either way we need more of these meets & events catering to what so many of us enjoy. i know of the PF event, ( New Jersey Photon Festival ) now in its 21s year, though i have never attend it yet.
This is to be an event open to everyone who would like to spend a weekend that involves everything we do here on BLF, along with getting to meet other members in person, trade lights, enter lights in Beamshoot-outs, and much more. This would be a weekend-long event worthy enough for members to attend from long distances away, and held once each year.
Man, I need to start saving up….
Seriously, are the only interested people a couple of thousand miles away???
I would love to attend something like this, but realistically it would have to be a few years down the line… I would have to design a Canada holiday around the weekend, perhaps you chaps could help me with an itinerary…. I trust you will find many interested people soon, I look forward to reading about the event!

seriously it looks interesting but unfortunately, i am one of those thousand km away too.
I’m to far away, to busy and on the other side of an international border so I can’t make it but are any plans being made to provide power to recharge cells? Does the RV have a generator (something more than the engine’s alternator)? What about on site A/C or solar?
Sounds cool, I would be up to drive up to a state away in any direction for one night but I just can’t do Canada.
I wonder if you folks will be visible from the ISS

I have gotten a lot of interest from members on CPF, and its odd that not many here responded as i know of a few members who live here in the same area.
….unfortunately I’m thousands of miles away.
