Have you seen it yet?
I just watched it.
The boxer that I rooted for won, and it was pretty entertaining.
If you don't want to know who won, avoid this thread, because I'm sure it'll come up.
The match made me want to watch more boxing.

l wish they try in the Octagon too, then we’ll know if Money is that good.
The rules in that match was so lopsided in favor of a pure boxer.
Personally l believe Money remains at 49-0.
It was a boxing match and the boxer won. No surprises there. McGregor held his own though, and it was a pretty entertaining fight.
Pathetic show. It was easy to guess who gonna win long before fight.
Too bad for Maywather that it took so long time to finish, shows how bad boxer he is nowdays.
Mike
My wife really wanted to see it so we went to the pub over the road and watched it there for free, although I missed a few rounds when I needed fresh air. I think one of my neighbours was going to pay-per-view it for something like $60.00!
A few people have been speculating that they will have a UFC rematch so that McGregor can win and both can claim victory in their disciplines. I hope they do but won’t be holding my breath.
I usually find boxing a bit boring and used to prefered watching Muay Thai as a kid but found this fight entertaining. One of the funniest things I saw at the pub was that people could place a bet on McGregor punching the ref. ![]()
McGregor thought he could beat a real boxer on his own turf. That means: official boxing rules.
And it did not work out for him. Though Mayweather agreed to use lighter-than-regulation boxing gloves.
So in my book Mayweather granted McGregor some slack, and still won the fight.
And the referee stepped in to prevent total humiliation.
l wonder if Money will agree to fight UFC rules, and in the Octagon. l will bet my whole light collection he won’t.
UFC fight for Mayweather will never happen. Mcgregor and his big mouth thinking he is the best ever challenged Mayweather and he took him up on it. I was so tied of Mcgregor running him mouth I couldn’t wait for the fight to begin. Mayweather never looked like he was in any kind of distress at any point in the fight. If you go back and look at the fight, MW was landing some bombs to MG’s face. Ref stoppage or not MG was done, personally would have liked to have seen MG knocked out.
And the kicker, MW 40yo, MG 29yo.
Floyd is an old dude in terms of sports 40yr, smaller than Mcgregor in height, reach and weight.
Mcgregor wanted to fight Floyd in a boxing match, this fact seems to escape many, boxing is a discipline. Mcgregor was not forced by anyone to fight in a boxing match.
You’ve got to appreciate the marketing prowess that is to pretend a match between a 40+ year old and a non boxer will be the match of the century (millenium ?) hats off to the artfull scammers when the victims are happy.
Either way a Real Boxing Contender would have ended this fight much earlier—-Mayweather only agrees to fights he knows he can win—As far as a cage match —This fight would have been over in the second round when Mcgregor hooked Mayweather’s arm

I don’t know about that. Floyd has fought some tough boxing competitors over the years. Look at the records of all his opponents since late 1998. A cage match is irrelevant. It was McGregor who wanted to fight Floyd in a boxing match, not the other way around. McGregor was completely gassed and over his head. If the ref hadn’t stopped that fight, he’d have been on his rear end in another 5 seconds. But hat’s off to Connor, he lasted 5 rounds longer than I thought he would
I was impressed with MacGregor, he did far better than I expected and did not embarrass himself at all. With Mayweather taking home in excess of $300,000,000 and MacGregor taking home over $100,000,000 it is hard for me to describe either as a ‘loser’ on Saturday night….
It was interesting how fast Byrd broke them up when MacGregor had Mayweather hurt with a body shot in the 9th and was swarming him.
