you put the protection circuit to the side. And added OLED on the side. It looks like there was empty space to the sides. Is that the case?

The space on the side was freed up by removing the stock driver, so in the normal setup this space isn’t free. I did reuse the switch portion of the stock flex PCB but the rest was removed.

You may be right. This is rocket science compared to my “monkey with a soldering iron” style of modding.
