I am moving today. Back to San Antonio. And then, very likely, a month later, I am heading to Houston. This is crazy. I am up with my black coffee (with added mushroom extract immune support drops) and am about to go get the truck.
As we have a lot of members, post your moving experiences, especially as they happen. I can’t wait to get out the stored light collection that has been tightly put away for more than two months now. What kind of a flashaholic am I?!
We sold are house and are in the process of building a new house. We only planned on renting for six months, but thanks to the rain we are now looking at 8 months. We are renting 3 storage units for all are crap and my flashlights and soldering iron are God knows where in there! Had to go buy a cheap tap and die set and wrenches from harbor freight to fix my sons truck since all my tools are in storage also. It kind of sucks having all my favorite toys and not being able to play with them.
I can relate to all thus far expressed; turns out, I will have to wait a week, pay my storage unit, and continue the painfully delayed “limbo” process to continue yet more. Ah, let’s sigh together!
Rent a mini storage unit in your local area. Put your stuff into that as you tidy things away. The firm renting out storage units could often offer transport of the unit to a new location. Then when you put the key in the door, all your stuff is already moved to the new storage unit a few km away from your new home.
I can’t relate right now, but will soon. I’m getting out of my childhood home, where I’ve lived for 27 years now, and into an apartment of my very own. I’m both looking forward to it and not, because the place is definitely better but the process is a huge hassle, especially when you have to set it up with the superintendent and not every day or hour is permitted.
