The news is so depressing these days......................

I find myself hanging out here to take my mind off it. That and March Madness.

BLF is becoming like comfort food in the morning, noon, and nite.

Maybe they should rename it Budget Light Therapy Forum. Hey, coincidentally I like Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwiches too. BLT’s. Comforting. H) :open_mouth:

Hmmm... BLT. I may have to stop at the store and get me a couple of pounds of bacon for the weekend. I have a local store close by with a really good meat counter; they sells Wright brand bacon by the pound for about half what the big stores sell it for. I go there for the bacon and the ribeye steaks... Mmmmm... steak...

I don’t know, it sounds kinda good right now doesn’t it? I’m gonna have to tell the wife to whip us up some for dinner tonite. It’s not typical dinner fare but it does have all the essential food groups, like sodium, nitrites, more sodium, and then some carbs to balance everything out. :open_mouth:

Geeze. This is making me hungry. Anybody got a different way of doing their BLT’s?

I also like to fry an egg in the left-over bacon grease and have a fried egg/bacon/cheese sandwich...

But no Wonder Bread though...

Yeah… no more Hostess cupcakes or Twinkies… :frowning:

Or Zingers... They should give a Nobel prize to whoever invented putting frosting on Twinkies...

Add cheese put it in a panini press :stuck_out_tongue:

City Slickers, and the scene at Curly’s funeral.

“The man ate bacon at every meal……you…….you……can’t do that!”

Twinkies were okay, but Ding Dongs were my favorite. Little edible hockey pucks.

I tried cheese on a BLT once and didn't care for it... I thought the cheese interfered with flavors and textures of the Bacon and Lettuce..

This, with Brown sauce (dont know if you colonials get Brown sauce)

I like the English blt, it is carefully prepared to have not a trace of l or t! 8)

The real butty of butties though is egg bacon sausage cheese two hash browns, fried mushrooms and Brown sauce on a toasted barm cake. J) :crown:

and they slathered on some pesto-looking sauce on the toast. IIRC it had some heat.

That might be true. Maybe it would be better to replace the hypothetical cheese with additional bacon… fuuuuuu* I’m hungry :stuck_out_tongue:

Suzy Q’s :frowning:

I just read about brown sauce on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_sauce

Sounds like it would be similar to a Heinz 57 or A1 Steak Sauce here. I've never had steak sauce on a Bacon/Egg/Cheese sandwich before... <pondering...> Undecided

It’s definitely not a steak sauce….reaches for sauce cupboard.

Look up hp sauce. That’s the original. It’s tangy, but whips the ass off tommy sauce on a fry up. :davie:

Tommy sauce? Fry up? You might as well be speaking French

Oh, mentioning Heinz, my grandfather in law made the machine that tests the tommy sauce consistency, I can see the Heinz factory from a few paces from my front door, their based in wigan. 8)

French? Bah, what do they know about cooking? They eat snail’s, frogs legs and horse.

Tommy sauce - tomato sauce.

Fry up - breakfast - bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, bread etc all fried.

I like to make CBLTs with rotisserie chicken. Slice some breast meat on there with a bit of skin. Mmmmmm money.
