The SYNIOSBEAM - CFT90 recoil thrower

CONCLUSION

Finally had a chance to go get some measurements, and had my friend help me out (you can see him in the pics)
Result: 100 x10 lux at 100.5m distance = 1000 lux at 100m = 10 000 000 lux at 1m
That is 10 000 000 candela  6.3km ANSI beam distance

The LX1330B meter I used is not perfect, so according to Djozz’s tests it could be about 5% higher than true values.
It’s pretty interesting though that the result was consistently 1000 lux at it’s peak, made the result a nice round number.
The meter was hovering at around 99-100 in the x10 mode.
The 10Mcd is very close to what I predicted with the CFT90, which was about 11Mcd in perfect conditions.
For some reason part of my reflector is a bit bent or something, there is a secondary ray of light that’s going off to the side which you may be able to see in some of the pictures.
If the reflector was perfect then we would have seen more than 10 million for sure.

That’s about it!
Thanks for following along with this project, I’ve learnt a lot along the way and hopefully you did too!
I’ve now got to pack it and ship it off to our resident super-thrower collector BVH
