Has anyone here had issues with Fireflies shipping?
Why do They™ usually make teevee remotes in the most retarded shapes imaginable?
Bad enough when you get an otherwise flat one with a huge bulge where the batteries go, but worse are those “contoured” ones that are basically banana shaped, arched upward, and rest on the 2 front/back edges.
You put the remote even the slightest bit off the edge of the table, and it just slides off the table like it was haunted. Meanwhile, something that’s actually flat can hang off the edge 1/3 or more, and it’s fine.
Had the same issue with Irish Spring bars in the same idiotic shape. Slightest bit off, and off it goes…
That is because they ask ergonomics “experts” for input on the design. Or, maybe worse marketing folks that think the design is visually appealing…
The soap … more surface area??? ![]()
Well, the soap is to be able to stick less stuff into a bigger box without it rattling around.
Think of the box you’d need to stick in a Pringle. If it were actually flat, they’d be able to stick it in an envelope, and not need a big-ass box.
But these weird-ass shaped remotes are hard to hold, especially if you gotta work the keys at the very top or bottom. And instead of the common ones on the middle like volume and channel, they’ll put them at the top, and weird-ass keys like a/b/c/d, cc, source, etc., get prime real estate.
You’d think they designed the beastie out of spite.
A Pringle box is only the height of a Pringle longer than a box that took all flat discs, no? Or you mean a single Pringle? Does such a thing exist, a single Pringle, boxed or not?
Agree on the remotes, they make them out of plastic like it has Teflon in it too.
I have wrapped slim rubber bands around the remotes to keep the slipping action to a minimum. They eventually dry out and need replacing but are effective.
Hate the Fire TV remotes that have 4 buttons at the bottom for direst access and if you sit them down on side table on the keys down position if you have any slight kind of drop action they activate one of them and kick you off what you were watching. Then you need to use Home key and start over, sucks.
I mean individual Pringles. Give something all kinds of curves and bends, and the box needed to hold it is huge, vs what it could be for a flat Pringle.
Like those Russell Stover candy boxes that are the size of a pizza box, but have like 10 depressingly small candies the size of poker chips, packed in that huge blowmold crinkly plastic tray that’s like 98.3% air and 1.7% candy.
Recently got some Nabisco Premium saltine crackers and noticed how un-full the box was so I had to get out the tape measure. The box is 10 inches tall. A stack of crackers is 7.5 inches. Not as bad as Russell Stover but still a considerable was of space.
Same like stella doro zweibachs. They used to span the entire tray and be stacked to the height of the tray, then seemingly kept the same tray but shrunk the cookies so that they’re like only ¾ the width and at least a good ¼-in shorter in height than the depth of the tray.
Quite blatant.
Scotts paper towels. When I see TP or PT on sale, I’ll stock up, like literally stacked to the ceiling in my “storage room”. Old ones at the bottom haven’t been used, new ones I just toss on top and use them last in first out.
Noticed that newer packages of 15 were the same height (to fit holders), but were shorter and narrower. Looked at the square footage, and the 15 of the new ones were almost exactly the same sqft as only 14 of the old ones. So a 15pak is like getting only 14 rolls.
I remember when you couldn’t even stick a fat roll of PTs on a wall-mounted holder til you used up a bunch. Now, new rolls look like they’re already more than half gone.
It’s the same principle of shrinkflation in action, make less look like the same.
Alas, stoopit looking remotes just seem to be the product of braindead design.
“Hey, this looks sleek!”
“Haven’t thought it out at all, have ya?”
Are “hipsters” still A Thing™?
Or are they antiquated, like “beatniks” or “suffragettes”?
Just saw one of those judge shows, and one contestant was suing another, and yeah, dewd looked like Dave Foley but with a huge bushy beard. Think he was wearing flannel, but don’t recall specifics. Only shown waist-up, so no idea if skinny jeans were lurking.
Got to wondering if they’re still around or went extinct by now.
Do you think that if you survive your death sentence execution you should be pardoned and have full medical coverage? ![]()
Would that technically fall under some kind of double jeopardy or cruel and unusual punishment? LOL. That’s an interesting question, in any case…
This is a stupid question!
Do you think this is a good job? Rate it from 1 to 10. With 10 being the highest.
I’ll give it a three and a half!
I feel bad cuz I recommended this guy to my friend. I have had negative experiences with him I should have known. And she bought the light for her husband.
First and foremost it arrived dead.![]()

Let’s examine the spring and the solder job. I should have taken a picture from the side the spring looks like a leaning tower of pisa. If you look at the base of the spring with the bigger coils there’s a big gap between that and the top where the wire is soldered to the smaller coils. It’s stretched. You could still tell that it’s leaning because the bottom part of the spring and the top is way out of alignment.
It’s very sloppy. She called him on the phone. I told her to tell her that the spring is also not good besides the light being dead. He said the spring supposed to be that way! Right! Taking advantage of a woman who wouldn’t know.
It was V54 he has a lot of talent but continues to rush and be sloppy. He’s actually losing money because of paying for shipping for returns and time to repair the light or make it right the second or third time!
@vinhnguyen54 takes care of his customers, so she has nothing to worry about.
The only person she should have an issue with is the so-called friend who recommends a business with whom he has had negative experiences.
BTW, are you sticking with @FeArNo1, or will you be going back & forth between that username and @3rdGen33?
or Maybe just pull out old
