Thinking about replacing LED's to brighter and warmer ones in some of my lights, need your experienced advice!

There are few questions Id like to know before I start, Im sure I will have more once I hear from you :)!

Would like to replace CW LED's in some of my lights with neutral or warm ones, not sure how easy it will be to take some of them apart to do the work, but the main question is - why are there so many XM-L2/XP-G2 lights out there, but so few XP-L?

Which of the all LED's currently in the market are the ones with the most lumens per watt?

Which one has those lumens in flood, which more in more throw?

I might replace LED on my Olight S15R(add bit more throw), Jetbeam HC20 and Xtar H3(throwy enough, so I suppose it wouldnt matter which LED I put into these).

Been thinking on buying either Spark, or Armytek, perhaps even Zebralight headlamp after I receive my refund from Gearbest(non delivery of two Xtar H2 which started all this headlamp buying-comparing thing for me), but seeing as they all use older XM-L2 emitters, would such premium amount paid for any those lights be worth it? Im not sure.

Your recommendations appreciated.

My recommendation is to buy several different tints of the same LED type you want in all your lights (XP-L or whatever). Then find which tints appeal to you the most and buy as many as you think you will need, plus 20%. The tints and bins are all limited anyway, plus the tint is only a range, so may vary some as well.

I am currently doing this with the 2 series tints, and have found 2B and 2C both to my liking. I do have to say that the new Nichia 219C is great as well, even though it is “only” 83 CRI. It is about as warm as I like, but it is not a warm tint….

If limited to only one LED, my opinion the Nichia would be hard to fault…

Good luck!

Ah, yeah, Im into neutral or warm tints :D!
