Pretty neat invention, now if they can get it under the skin of the AA battery that would be even better.
Could be useful for flashlights, read the voltage through your smartphone, would save wear on the threads of the light.

The flashlight is probably a pretty good Faraday cage, so you won’t be able to talk to it from your phone.
