I thought the new c8s has the thumb cut out slits on the tail cap.

Yeah. And look at the pill, it has screws. This is not the latest model with “new” tailcap and the integrated shelf. IF there is a new model, we are looking at a model two generations back. This is the model I would call “classic C8” but already has a new (the latest?) driver.

I was under the impression newer C8 version has an integrated shelf.
Or is the new version reverted back to pill?

It’s obviously the older version, aluminum screw-able pill, no thumb cut on the tail…

IIRC, the ‘new’ C8 with integrated shelf was the Convoy C8. I don’t know about Thorfire.

My review of the Thorfire C8s (provided by Thorfire for review) Most of the review will be pictures, because you know, pictures speak louder than words! I’ll start by saying the Thorfire C8s is very similar to the Convoy C8. The main differences being the driver and the forward click switch. Nice box compared to the usual white crushed one that usually comes with these type of lights: ![image]! Open: ![image]! Carefully packed: ![image]! So Thorfire added holes for easy removal of the pill in this version.

Yes, the newer Thorfire C8s has the integrated shelf and cut-outs on the tail cap.

“New” might be the wrong term, I bought my first Thorfire C8s back in December 2015. It had the integrated pill, but still the old tailcap without cut-outs.
