Throwers??

I have done that for quite some time, and have WAY too many lights! But I guess I’m a tint snob in a bit of a different way… I just like as near white as possible. Not concerned about DUV or BBL I just want white. Probably because of my years as a photographer where an expensive white wedding dress absolutely could not look orange! Lol

There seems to be a trend towards emitters of sunset orange color output, I have thrown so many of those in the garbage over the years its crazy!

And high CRI, another chase point for so many… but to me if the light is white colors are true, no fuss no worries.

Perspective once again.

LEPs are new to me and I just started to look into them. I think I‘ll be going that route ! They look awesome. Although there is still the smile factor from a massive reflector light.

LEPs are still illegal in Canada so I don’t have one of those yet. But all of customs and border security is on strike right now so now might be the best time…or the worst time. Hard to say.

Ya that probably adds up but you gotta collect em all!

Wait, what? A LEP Flashlight is illegal in Canada? You’re messing with me right. You probably meant California. That would make more sense. LOL

The world is going to shit. We all just sit back and watch it. Damn shame.

Yep.

Canada has some weird laws and restrictions.

Like…in Canada carrying a concealed weapon or possessing a weapon for a “dangerous purpose” such as “the purpose of disturbing public peace” is punishable by up to 14 years in jail. What’s disturbing public peace. Broadly it’s anything that might bother anybody. Singing is an act thats listed as an action possibly disturbing the peace (on its own punishable by up to 2 years in jail btw. Singing).

Ok, so what’s a weapon. A weapon is literally defined as- anything designed to be used as a weapon, anything that a person uses as a weapon, whether that thing is designed as a weapon or not, and anything that one intends to use as a weapon regardless of its design.

The following objects have been found to be weapons: a jar of peanut butter (it was thrown at a guy at a hockey game), a hockey puck (it was fired into the crowd at a hockey game…These are literally the examples given in the actual criminal code of canada lmao), a bottle of beer (probably another hockey game, a sewing machine (probably not hockey), a piece of glass, a vehicle, a dog, a cell phone, articles of clothing, shoes, shoelaces…you get the idea. It’s illegal to possess anything anywhere at any time. Technically.

Another weird one- there’s 2 levels of theft. Theft under $5,000, and theft over $5,000. There’s nothing in between. Meaning if you ask for a cup for water and fill it with Pepsi you get the same charge as a guy that steals $4,999 in jewelry. So you might as well go big. Same charge.

A judge will look at you two differently though. Maybe. It’s subjective. It’s all subjective.

Damn, it’s like our TSA is running your government. I guess 6D maglights are a no-no over there

disclaimer: just making a comparison, not pitching a conspiracy theory here

Yes. But the government wants to protect everyone from everything, all of the time…
So it is OK.

As long as it doesn’t contain liquid greater than 3.4 oz’s lol

Oh phew ok that’s fine then lol. How nice of them

Ya anything fun is probably not allowed. With a few odd exemptions. But also kind of like an honor system, because for all these rules we don’t actually have the resources to enforce even a fraction of them. It’s tax season right now but most of that agency is on strike. And the rest are still on covid leave…so just don’t do tax fraud this year. We can’t afford to audit you lol

Ya, that’s technically illegal, but theres paperwork involved and none of us have a pen or any paper, so just don’t do it again. You get a lot of warnings. Most of the time. “Most”. Until you dont. Or until you’re the wrong skin color in the wrong neighborhood that’s definitely a thing.
