Hi everyone,

I just recently bought the Thrunite Catapult V6 after reading many positive reviews on this forum. The light is very useful and I love it, but I can’t see any noticable difference between high and turbo on the light: is this normal, or should I be able to tell a difference between the two modes?

There is a difference but the V6 turns off and then on again from high to turbo so it's hard to nice compared to other lights that almost instantly go from high to turbo when you change modes. This is assuming your batteries are charged.

Yes… there should be 5 modes… you should to double click for the turbo…

I tested my v6 with unprotected 26650…

Firefly. 20 lumen
Low. 28 lumen
Medium. 207 lumen
High. 1066 lumen
Turbo… 1951 lumen…

Batteries are shipped half charged. If you’re testing the flashlight immediately out of the box, you may not see a difference between high and turbo.

You can use luxe meter oorsome mobile app to measure the difference.

Just checked mine out (CW) w Thrunite battery showing 4.0 volts. Turbo is brighter but not a dramatic difference. Suggestion - check out hotspot on ceiling and you should notice it is brighter and is a bit wider on turbo versus high.

Agree with klrman that the off-then-on going high to turbo masks the difference a bit.

High is very useful and bright, but turbo is a noticeable difference to me. If you can’t notice the extra lumens, you should be able to feel the heat the turbo mode gives out. After a minute it’s an excellent hand warmer. On any of the other modes it stays pretty cool.

Let the light run in turbo for a couple mins, and it will step down to 1000 lumens after a while to manage its heat. You will notice a small decrease in visual brightness.

1000 lumens to 2000 lumens isn’t all that much difference to the eye. I like that the V6 can run at 1000 lumens with no heat issues and do it fully regulated for over an hour.

This is what I did when I first received mine, but I used a wall. The hotspot is a bit brighter and wider like peg matite said. Also, someone mentioned that turbo does get warmer too.
It’s a great light. It’s my new nightstand light at the moment.

I tried fully charging the light again, and I realized that if I set the mode to high and turn the flashlight off, once I enter turbo I can briefly see the step-up in output.

The Thrunite cells have had a problem in the past with oil or some other deposits on the cell ends. It was found back when I reviewed a sample of the V6 that a good cleaning of the cell ends with a cloth or paper towel and rubbing alcohol can dramatically improve the performance most times.
Some of the lights were only holding Turbo a few seconds , but after cleaning the cell ends really good , most went to staying in the Turbo mode for the full 3 minutes and the overall output also went up in Turbo…

i found a way that shows the difference from high to turbo.
First, turn the light on, cycle it to high mode, then turn the light off.
Now the timing is tricky and it may take a few tries, double click the switch from off but not too fast. You will see it come on high and then turbo. It will then be quite noticeable.
Let me know if it works for you! Remember timing is key and don’t go too fast and don’t go to slow.

Actually it should be easily noticeable when you go from High to Turbo as the below GIF’s show.
