I hear from a reliable source (ThruNite) that they will be releasing 2 x XM-L2 flashlights tomorrow.
Anyone want to guess what they will be?

2 different flashlights with single XM-L2 emitters.

I hope it’s a kickass long throw flashlight.
1km range.
thrunite needs to make an aspheric head for the tn31 J)
Today I have also found that thrunite have make a notice in their new release.
CREE XM-L2 LED is more bright 20–25 than XM-L U2 LED. I think that it must a new thrower king. I will follow their official ebay store until it has been released.
original:

$241
Not a bad combo if the batteries are any good.
That’s the normal TN31 with an XM-L U2 -$145
Soshine charger = $50
3 x 18650s (3100s)= $45
The XM-L2 is the next generation of LEDs.
Thats 1 down, that kind of spoiled the release date ![]()
Oh yeah I just realized the pics say XM-L U2, but the title says XM-L2.
Does that combo really cost that much?
no, its not, i think its a mistake

MMM TN30 3600 lumens J)
Interesting that stated output for both lights has increased by 20%, as per Cree specs. Hmmmm.

20% seems like a lot.
dang it… i just got these 2 lights last week and now they came out with the new ones?? bah… my luck ![]()
question is… are they still using the same driver for the light? if that’s the case… i’ll just wait few more months when they available widely and the price will be cheaper by then to swap the LEDs ![]()
i wonder if the extra 338 lumens will make much difference?..
wouldn’t bother me much. in another couple weeks the emitters on pcb will be less than the price difference between old version and new version and, you get to keep the ‘old’ led…
