Really nice floody light… plenty of light otf… nice clean beam…
Needs more throw… at least where im using it…
considering a dedome but dont want to ruin the pretty beam…

I'd suggest that you well remove 80% or so of the flood. It will throw a lot further though. If you are not sure I'd buy a cheaper light and start with that.
Why not try and XP-G2 on copper in there? 
Is this the original XM-L twist mode change TN12 or the new 2014 XM-L2 side button version?

I dedomed my TN12 2014 version today. So far I prefer it dedomed as the spill less distracting when looking at a distance but still plenty to see nearby stuff. One caveat, it’s a bit green, if that bothers you. YMMV
