just saw the tn30 on hkequipment and it lists 2850 lumens vs the cool white version that lists 2780 lumens…this is t6 leds (neutral) vs U2 leds (cool)…is the neutral driven harder or ? anyone have any insight?
Ps…my wife wanted a new cat so I told her the only way was that I get something I want…tn30 with 3 pana 3100’s and a sysmax charger that’s on hke was the deal…so I get my tn30 next payday that i’ve been trying to save up for…pretty pumped!! now just need to know which to get…leaning towards neutral…
However unlikely it may sound, perhaps someone is simply confusing a bin with a tint. In any case, all other things being equal, there’s no way a T6 is brighter than a U2.
OK. Now I’m confused! So they have made it with a T6 so it can be a neutral? That still doesn’t explain why they don’t mention the option on either of their websites. Though admittedly flash-light manufacturers websites can be out of date.
the neutral version is t6 bin…the cool is U2 bin…just like I have a drop in from intl-outdoor…the cool was a U2 bin and I got the neutral version which is a t6 bin…
I don’t know why it’s not on their site, but the question has been asked so we will have to wait to hear from them…
I saw Trunite reply to a comment from someone on the Other Side who wanted to buy a green Ti, but it wasn’t shown on their site - he was told to just put the requirement in the comment field when ordering. A bit different, mind you, from not describing the availability of a neutral light, but their web site is very new.
yeah leaning toward neutral…i’ve only started on the neutral and I like em ok…just for a 250$ purchase I need to be sure…i’m sure about the light just having a hard time with tint…i’m leaning pretty heavily towards neutral…I really have a hard time being a tint snob…it’s just not in my DNA…
I became a tint snob really quickly. Actually the truth is that I’ve always been one. Every single globe in my house is a warm white compact fluorescent lamp, and this has been the case for years. I just find that it creates a far more relaxing mood. Will be slowly replacing them all with warm white LED bulbs soon, although I’m likely to be picky and spend a lot of time finding just the right sort.
When it comes to flashlights though, I prefer neutral white. The T6 3C XM-L seems absolutely perfect. I’m happy to have some cool whites of course, because they too serve a purpose, but too much cool white too often just seems to irritate me somehow.
It’s a subjective thing, though, and as such, everybody is right.
yeah the neutrals are more appealing…I have 2 right now and they are really nice…glad to have them…just with a barn burner like the tn30 a cool white seems like it will be brighter and that’s why i’m buying it…to be as bright as possible…seems counter-productive to slap in a led that isn’t as bright…
Yeah, for anything with more than one LED I don't see the need for neutral leds. Personally the only time I use my super bright lights is either to show off or in the city to be more visible while walking at dusk neither of which good color rendition matters.
They may have just gotten the specs mixed up.
If you look on their site at the TN31, both the T6 and U2 versions are also being offered.
The TN31 U2 does state a higher output than the T6 model.
But, if you find out the TN30 T6 neutral was modded for higher output, I may just pick one up also.
hke got back to me…email stated the neutral should be 2780 lumens and the cool is 2850 lumens…they are going to switch them from the sound of it…all makes sense now…
