Cool! So the tailcap’s rubber piece is translucent with RBG LED underneath? Mine is just black.
Yeah, I already had a set (simple lighted switch, translucent ring, translucent silicone button) in place for a swap when I discovered I didn’t need to. Everything was already in place. ![]()
Is it available to buy? Web site please if so. TIA.
Prices are rather volatile and today’s price of € 30.59 is about € 3.00 more than the gross price I got.
On top of that, “my” NL price is incl. 21% VAT and shipping to NL. Plus I got € 2.64 in coupons.
So there is no way I can predict what you’ll have to pay for it. But there are still lights available.
Maybe you are lucky to get an even better price, so here is the link.
Edit: I think I’ve answered something you did not ask me ![]()
The set I mentioned were parts that came out of my spare box. They most certainly were not bought at the same time from the same seller.
Yes, and no problem
. The set was what I was asking about.
Something about these small Lumintops - like beautiful little sculptures.
Last night, while walking the dog for her last twinkle of the day, I used my GTA for the first time in real life.
Tell you the truth, I was not lost for words when I opened the box, but I went to bed with a smile on my face.
That’s what this hobby is all about.
Beamshots?
Both outside and inside beamshots on this youtube review: https://youtu.be/NCTZkVEEjmY?si=hBDCG4z-IWjlKibl&t=373
That’s definitely chuckleworthy
I order the Skilhunt EC150 with SFT-25R because one, it’s pretty and amazingly tiny for a USB-C light, two I like Skilhunt, and three, the concept of taking one of the most intensely throwy LEDs on the market and make a flooder out of it.
So it really doesn’t belong here, but it’s a convenient place, a super tiny flooder against the tiny super thrower Lumintop GT and Convoy T8.
Skilhunt chose a CCT in between Convoy’s 5000k and 6500k LED. They call it “cool white” I think, and it measures ~5500k. The beam is below, to put it kindly, “on the green side of things”
. An “interesting” comparison to Convoy’s 5000k LED with fantastic tint and CCT.

It does not have the throw of most of the ‘tiny throwers’ mentioned here in this topic, but last year I was able to pick up 2 Acebeam TAC AA 2.0 for really low prices on Aliexpress. (After discounts for € 14,89 and € 11,72, including 14500 battery and shipping included for those prices.)
Here is a link to the Acebeam site: TAC AA EDC Flashlight|Acebeam® Official Store |High-Powered Flashlights | Tactical Flashlights | Headlamps | LEP Flashlights
I bought them in the (really nice) blue color option that they had, which is even way prettier in real life, but unfortunately it appears that Acebeam doesn’t sell that color anymore. Here is a image of this color version, I quickly snatch from the internet:
For the prices I bought them last year, which would’ve been ~$ 13,50 and ~$17,15 with the exchange rate back then, I find them really good value for money flashlights, certainly when you take into consideration that there is a 1000mAh 14500 with build in USB-C charging port included in that price.
EDIT:
I is still available in the blue color on Amazon, I just noticed:

I love these Acebeam TAC AA lights. I have a green TAC 2AA with the Lattice Power TN3535 LED that I bought on sale also. VERY pretty light with 1600 lm and floody beam. Measures 7000k with Duv -0.0020 on Turbo.
I was going to gift it to my son for camping use, but after receiving it, nah… I could always have one more light. ![]()
Beams of 3 versions of SFT-25R, not a perfect comparison because the 2 Convoys are throwes and Skilhunt is floody. But should give a decent idea of the beam colors of the 3 versions of this LED: 5000k (Convoy T8), ~5500k (Skilhunt), and 6500k (Convoy T8).
I bought Skilhunt a long time ago but have not developed enthusiasm to write about it because of its very green beam.
In photogarphy, white balance on any RAW picture file is adjusted by a CCT slider (yellow blue axis) and a Tint slider (green magenta axis). Both parameters (not the CRI) are equally important in determining WB, and here, beam colors.

That SFT-25R 5000K is definitely the pick of the litter for me. I am glad I picked one up on your recommendation.
The green tint of SFT-25R 5500k was so unnerving
that I had to use Zircon filter. I tried Zircon 1/8, still not good enough, so proceeded to Zircon 1/4.
SFT-25R tint is very much dependent on output (really green at low level, better at Turbo), so comparison has to be made at exact same level. This picture comparison uses the highest of the stepped level of EC150. Turbo-1.
I believe this is also the brightness level that the 1lumen reviewer measured Duv = positive 0.0140. Triple digit positive 140 Duv is what I would consider off-the-chart bad.

Duv at each brightness level for EC150 and SFT-25R 5500k, using my amateur grade equipment. As seen in a number of other LEDs I have measured, Duv becomes less positive (“better” and less green) at higher output.
These are some of the worst numbers I’ve seen and consistent with my observation of the severe green tint. Even at Turbo, Duv 0.0090 is nothing to write home about.
Low: 5260k Duv=0.0120
Medium: 5330k Duv 0.0120
High: 5380k Duv=0.0110
Turbo-Low: 5450k 0.0100
Turbo-Hi: 5500k Duv 0.0090
Comparison of outputs of each LED in two different lights:
- Convoy T8 with one SFT-25R LED: Turbo output ~1400 lm per LED
- Skilhunt EC150 with three SFT-25R’s LED: ~1500 lm, Turbo output 500 lm per LED
Looking at koef3’s review of this LED here, 500 lm seems “barely lit” so to speak. Because SFT-25R LED has worsening green tint at lower outputs, IMHO the decision to use 3 LEDs and run them at such low levels contributes to the terrible green tint of this light.
The design of EC150 includes a couple interesting decisions. First, is taking one of THE most throwy LEDs presently available and making a flooder light out of it (no complaint). Second, is using 3 LEDs at such low power level, where 2 or 1 LED may suffice? Doesn’t this increase complexity and cost? No criticism; I’m sure Skilhunt has their reasons (available optics, heat, efficiency?). Just an amateur wondering.
I’ve dragged my feet writing about EC150 because it’s simply not fun to be negative. Hopefully this next purchase will be different. Now on Nealsgadgets, pre-order expecting 2-28 shipping. Use code FWAA for 30% off.
One reason I bought this light is the LED, 519a 4000k. But note driver is FET+1. I don’t mind FET turbo because the Nichia 519a’s I’ve tested have more negative Duv and look less greenish at the highest outputs. (Same reason I ordered my Convoy S21E 519a with the FET option.) I expect the Turbo glory to be fleeting though.
