I'm sure there are people here who will be glad to know: a few days ago someone on CPF posted quite some measurements on the Nichia219 with an integrating sphere. Interesting read I thought. Found it in the CPF led section.
My own personal opinion which probably goes against the tide: Nichia makes a terribly inefficient LED, i would opt for the lean mean muscle car in this race, an XPG2
but what’s the efficiency of the XP-G2 at 92CRI? There’s a pretty steep price to be paid for such high CRI, although whether that price is worth paying or not is open to debate. For light fixtures I’d say no, but for torches/ flashlights the waters are a bit muddier.
I cant argue that point. Its basically preference and the high CRI color rendering …
Before i shoot my trap off im going to order a Nicha 219 and make a triple ( highest CRI available)
and track this thread down and post.
As seen the color rendering and tint of Nichia 219 using DrJones drop-in,
I can say it is like an artificial sunlight in your pocket.
4500K is certainly better than 3000K.
