Tips for building a large battery pack?

Let’s say I were to make a briefcase sized battery bank with a safe voltage cutoff, how would you go about doing this? What cells would you use?

I have no idea how to make this easy to charge (other than taking out each battery and charging), and how to build in a protection circuit (vs using protected cells).

You need a balance charging harness and a way of identifying dud cells.

When you are talking a pack that size you really, really need to talk to someone who knows way more than I do.

What I’ve been seeing people doing in another forum is that they were connecting all the cells in parallel to eliminate charging imbalances and them using a boost driver to increase the voltage to a desired output. Not too efficient though…

Don’t forget your thermisters.
