Hi , thank you for answering even if partially . So generally the external part of the light is pretty durable other than lens ?

I have two D4s, a D1, and a D1S. My friend also has a D4.
I do not abuse them but I’ve been very happy with all of them. I use the D4s most, and have had a few drops onto hard surfaces without any failures. Just some scratches and scrapes.
The anodizing wears quite easily on my smooth black D4, but this is just cosmetic. It has a few bare spots from rubbing against my jeans while clipped to my pocket.
A broken lens is simple to replace by unscrewing the front bezel. If you break the glass lens, perhaps you could replace it with a more durable polycarbonate lens.

Im not looking to torture test them . for me if it can survive accidental drops on the ground and concrete and puddles of water is plenty good . where do i get the replacement lens from if say i broke it(i hope not)

Since you’re located in Singapore, you will probably purchase the light from the manufacturer at Intl-Outdoor.
Ask Hank (the owner) if you could also order one or two spare lenses when you purchase the light.
For reference, the D4 lens measures 25.5mm diameter and 1.5mm thick.

Noted. Thank you for sharing your experience with the d4 . anybody else care to share ?
I work in construction and I use a BLF A6, which has been subjected to drips and knocks. Cheap, rugged and simple.
Not that the d4 couldn’t also do this. It’s a very good light, it’s just more extreme in a way that you probably don’t need for work

If the quality is the same as the BLF A6 then im getting one asap . lol . i know the max lumens output for the emisar is overkill for anything practical but its still nice to have that super bright burst coming from such a small light.

Just saw pictures of D4S on FB. 26650 version of the D4.
New 26650 D4s coming soon

Ah, that explains the new 4xXP 32mm board and Ledil Angie-S optic on the intl-outdoor site
Time to open a thread about the new one?
That looks nice :sunglasses:

It’s way longer, I wonder why ? I mean, 18650 and 26650 are the same length…
I hope that it has a thick shelf under the MCPCB !

Other than better heat dissipation, can we expect the same output and emitters from the D4S as we are seeing with the original D4?

Assuming that it is indeed a quad with Ledil Angie-S optic, the light is at least longer because the optic is longer than the Carclo 10622 (well, just by 3mm actually), the output should be about the same as the D4, but with a bit longer turbo-time, the throw should be considerably better: a narrower hotspot.

Well if the D4 is transposed to the D4S, then maybe Hank will turn the D4 into a Meteor M43 like light; basically four D4 lights into one M43 form factor with 4x4 emitters.

Oh wow, such hype! That’s another must purchase.
It looks so nice and fat too.
