glen you really resemble your father especially that smile
you look even more like your dad! Your mom was a beauty!
You seem like a smaller scale copy of your dad!
Everybody thinks I look/looked like my dad. I never saw that. Orion, thanks for saying that. Mom was an amazing person.
I know the feeling I wasn't very close to my father untill just few yeard before he passed
Just the reverse for me. Without going into details, after my mom passed in 1997, my dad moved back to NY to the house I was renting from them. I lived in the guest house in the back, he moved into the first floor of the main house. Because he was in close proximity to me, he would knock on my door several times a day, bothering the hell out of me for nonsensical things. This led to me buying my own house 3 miles away in 1999 which he took as a major insult. Things went from bad to much worse. I'll leave it at that...
Wow, love the old pic, great looking family. And yes, you looked almost exactly like him right down to the smile. He had excellent taste, your mom was a gorgeous woman! She has the look of many of the movie stars of that era.
Are you a movie star Glen? ![]()
Yeah, hostile words sometimes come so easy…repairing the damage, not so much. In an opposite rendition, I lost my firstborn son when he was a month shy of his 18th birthday. 2 days before he made the worst mistake of his life, I’d given him a “lecture” about managing his anger. Just 2 days after my best advice, hoping to get him to stay out of trouble, he killed a 14 yr old girl. He hung himself in jail a week later. He didn’t talk to me in that week, I was told I wasn’t on his visiting list at the jail. He didn’t want to see me. He died and was gone and I never got another chance to tell him I loved him. That was 8 years ago.
So you see, it can, to our horror, work both ways. The bottom line is always think before you deliver words in anger, and always hold your loved one’s in high esteem. Life has a way of sneaking up on us when we’re not looking, and sometimes, most of the time, there’s simply no going back.
My heart and best wishes go out to you.
oh my God, that's terrible :( No one should have to bury a child. I'm so sorry you had to deal with such a tragedy. My heart goes out to you and your family. I don't even know what to say right now :(
I only meant we should Cherish every moment. Make an attempt to make every moment a memorable one, but be quick to forget the off times they’re not. Family is what the world is all about. Extending family into close friends, and being open to make new friends close friends, is what brings the world together.
We never know what is just around the corner, so it’s up to us to live our lives like the very next moment may be the last opportunity. It really is true that we are empowered to change what’s wrong in our lives every day when we get out of bed. It’s a matter of making the conscious effort to do so.
We need a smiley group hug……
I'm in for that. Actually I'm famous for group hugs. Just ask my friends. When they see me they say, "here we go again" lol.. Believe it or not, it's true :)
OK, one last picture of mom and dad at Epcot Center sometime in the 90's, maybe late 80's I'm not sure They really loved eachother :)

Glad you feel that way my friend. I'm with you pal :)
My daughter was 10, she sang Amazing Grace at the funeral. That’s the memories I hope I never lose. She was such a trooper. Still is, she’s a tough young lady and always stands up for friends…ready to fight at the drop of a hat for her friends , you don’t bad talk her friends, lol.
I hardly ever see her, her mom moved her 100 miles away when Chad died, such is life. When she needs something, she remembers her father. Ahh, indeed, such is life. ![]()
We all need to keep the motto “Pay it Forward” in mind. If we all are on the lookout to help someone in need, when we or a loved one needs help and we aren’t able to be there…someone else will pick up the slack. This is what makes a small community so close-knit, they look out for each other. If we could extend that to a Global way of thinking, well I’d like to think the world would be a better place.
And then you’d let me borrow your Black Shadow Terminator whenever I wanted!
LOL
Orion, thank you. No offense intended, but I try to steer clear of stuff like that lest I collapse into the black hole, ya know?
I’ve been taking lessons from Kreisl about maintaining my sanity…
