Just noticed it has been just over 5 days since FireFlies logged in. Perhaps Freeme can shed some light on concerns and lack of communication.

so I recieved my ROT66 SST20 6500K, everything is perfect, the packaging, the driver, the UI and the leds, however I noticed mine has 2 problems.

01. the screws in the battery carrier keep getting lose on its own when screwing off and on the tail cap! (I permanently fixed this problem by applying super glue to all the screws and poles)

02. When screwing the tail cap on or off, the battery carrier will rub on the driver ring causing metal dust to come out, I tried fixing this problem by sanding down smooth on both the driver ring and the battery carrier but once i tighten or losen the tail cap the driver ring and carrier scratch and metal dust comes out all over again.

Does anyone else have this experience?

I just want to give a shout-out to Jacky from FF. I had ordered my 3rd ROT66 (SST20 95CRI) back in September, but due to incompetence and apathy on the part of USPS, I never got my package. The last I ever heard of it was that it was getting sent to USPS lost mail center. I submitted multiple lost package claims, called/emailed USPS, but got nothing. So a couple of weeks ago I came to the sad realization that I was never going to see that package. Since it was not really FF’s fault, I debated just letting it go and take it as a loss. But I decided to shoot Jacky an email anyway explaining what had happened. If he had not been able to do anything I would have been completely fine with that. But he immediately and gladly offered, and subsequently shipped me a replacement. He absolutely did not have to do that. So I just wanted to leave a positive post regarding FF since there has been some negative posts in response to some of the issues with the newer E07 (which I will be ordering) and PL47 (which I have 2 of). In fact it’s even more impressive to me that even with all the issues FF is dealing with regarding those lights, Jacky still took the time to take care of my issue. I’m not saying this to dismiss the issues FF is having, but to say that, if nothing else, I think FF is definitely doing their best to provide good customer service.

So Jacky, if you’re reading this, thank you very much for providing me with excellent customer service! I will definitely be buying more FF lights.

P.S. - I really love all of my FF lights too. I have 2 nichia ROT66s and one SST20 95CRI coming (the replacement referenced above). I also have 2 PL47s, one nichia, and one SST20 95CRI. And boy do I love the SST20 95CRI. It is sublime! In fact I love it so much I’m getting all the lights I can get my hands on with these emitters. Just ordered a D4 and D4S with these emitters. And will be ordering some E07s with these emitters too.

I wish I was as lucky as CoolJB. My rot66 arrived malfunctioning and died completely soon after. I told Jack on November 30 and after several emails, video, and promises he hasn’t shipped a replacement head yet…

i think fireflies is not quite there yet in terms of build quality, my ROT66 carrier was flimzy and every time i turn the cap the carrier and driver ring grinds, every now and then i have to blow out the aluminum shavings…

Is the bezel and tail cap stainless or aluminum?

The light will run with less brightness, and with shorter runtime.
However, color accuracy is excellent, and tint is unmatched.

I live in CAD and bought one the day they announced the $55 price. It shipped the next day I believe. Tacking suggests I should receive it next week. Think I ordered last week Wednesday.

Of you check the FF blf member Rot66 thread there’s been some posts about the $55 price. I ordered the night it was announced and when I checked only like 3-4 days later the price was coming up much higher. Others experienced this also recently this week. I think the $55 price was just a flash sale

I own both the other FF lights and haven’t had any quality issues yet. I wasn’t planning on buying an ROT66 but at $55 + whatever small upcharge I paid I simply couldn’t resist what’s likely the last time I’ll ever be able to buy a high output multi emitter Nichola 219B light.
