I had UPS leave a package near the back door one time without my knowledge, it was there for two or three days before I found it.
This was before the internet I was calling the sender then UPS all I was told is “delivered”

I found a package at the end of my 100 yard long driveway on top of a stone wall one winter. Actually someone told me it was there since I hadn’t seen it . I called that one in and got an apologetic phone call back from UPS.

I generally have them delivered to work, but the 2 cameras will trigger anything outside so I can see who dropped them off an where, and see who stole them as well.

The title of this thread sounds like the title of every clickbait YouTube video. But I agree, in my case this happens much more from USPS than UPS.

The last several deliveries from Amazon, I get a txt message saying delivered along with a picture of the package at my front door. Excellent service.

Several years ago, my wife ordered an expensive couch cover. It never showed up, yet they said it was delivered. I insisted it wasn’t. They sent another one and it arrived within a week or so. About 2 months later, I was looking out of the windows out at the back deck, and noticed a big lump in the snow. I thought it was a dead animal, so I got out there with a shovel. Low and behold it was the first delivery (ruined). The Fedex driver didn’t bother delivering it to the covered front porch, just chucked up on the snow covered back deck.

Never had a problem with USPS, but most always a problem with UPS and Fedex. Sometimes they would just leave a package out in the rain in front of the garage door. In other words, they would scan the package, and toss it out the van window so they didn’t get wet. idiots

We have about a 50 yard long driveway, and it's pretty steep.

Most deliveries are either at our front door, or at the base of the driveway.

A lot of the the delivery people say the package is at one place, but it's really at the other.

I guess I have been lucky, never a problem with any carrier. If I am not home, unless it is signature required; they leave it right by the front door. :white_check_mark:

I haven't seen the UPS handhelds but if they're like the FedEx or Amazon ones then the driver just picks a multiple choice selection unless they really have to enter a note. At work there are so many times where they say "left at dock" - we don't have a dock or anything remotely like a dock. And sometimes the person who signed for the delivery is a woman who retired from our company a decade ago...

I get better service from UPS/FedEx here than Amazon or USPS. Amazon has used my mailbox (illegal - and yes, I check to make sure it wasn’t one of the random few Amazon packages I actually get through USPS) and also frequently marks it as “handed to individual” or whatever - which doesn’t require a picture. Except they threw it at the porch.

Used to have stuff delivered to the office.
Now that I’m home more they come to the house.
Nine out of ten times they just leave outside the door.
But why the heck can’t they knock or ring before running back to the truck?
Really sucks if it’s food and it’s 100 out.
All the Best,
Jeff

Another neighbor hates me. I called in a loose Rottweiler on the street today; just me and it, no one else on the street. It ignored me, but since I was wearing my GoPro camera, the owners got a written warning.

it’s always great when they don’t ring and take it straight to the post office 6km away.
I guess all of this is because the delivery drivers aren’t given enough time. complain? there is always someone else willing to not starve and take your job!

We really have different realities! Here, besides the national post services (CTT) we also have lots of different companies delivering packages (DHL, MRW, DPD, FEDEX, UPS, Correos Express, …). Not to speak about the other special deliveries from stores, etc.

Many times, when I am not at home, or when the door bell doesn’t ring, and the package has my phone number, they call me to deliver it! From the different companies, including CTT!
I know I live in the city center, not in a house with garden but in an apartment, but still, there is a very different approach!

That speaker photo “speaks” for itself :confounded: Does it work properly?

UPS runs a tight ship usually. We have had drivers that do their jobs above and beyond. I cringe when they move to a different route. Never know who will replace them. After the last good one left our route, the company has replaced him with a hodge podge of drivers. Some good and some not so good. Winter deliveries are not as consistent as they used to be but overall I would give them an B+.

God bless America :person_with_crown:
Here we must sign delivery confirmation. Not possible for courier to drop package at the welcome mat and go.

That’s sick.
You order for example 1500$ gear, UPS drop it on porch while you are away and someone steal it before you get back home.
What is the procedure in this case? No gear, no money, parcel delivered.
Mike

What if I went to grocery store nearby, parcel dropped, stolen. You get my point? Who’s responsible and pay for lost goods?
What if parcel is not delivered, stolen by UPS driver, claimed he put it on welcome mat, but he didn’t. He just walked back and forth to get his tracks recorded bu GPS system.
No CCTV, just his word against your. Who’s guilty one and who gonna pay?

That is impossible, signature became mandatory for both UPS and Fedex if declared value is $500 or above.

Also the delivery persons (as well as supply chain workers) work as the human shield against covid for all of us during the past year. I highly respect them and appreciate all they did. We normally talk about healthcare workers a lot but they cannot even do anything without delivery and supply chain workers.

Ok, so 400$ goods. Who pay for lost parcel?
