Call the 1800 number for USPS and ask to initiate a trace. I’ve had to do it before and they usually figure out where it got lost. Granted I think you have to wait 1 or 2 weeks after the proposed delivery date for it to begin tracing.

On another note, cashier check through the mail seems awfully risky. $11 to send thousands and thousands of dollars that are cashable by anyone seems risky to me. Pretty sure this is why Western Union is still around today.

Or even Fedex for a few bucks more. I know we’re all budget minded here, but sometimes the risk is just too high.

Maybe there’s a gaping hole out west that is gobbling up USPS trucks? I just lost my first shipment ever (First Class package coming from Washington). It was projected to be delivered 11 days ago. It supposedly departed Spokane on the 11th, never to be heard from again. I submitted a “Missing Mail” form online a few days ago but haven’t heard a peep from USPS about it. :rage:

Granted, mine has a much smaller value than yours… just some LEDs.

Why didn’t you send it Express Mail overnight delivery, or better yet, Fedex Priority Next day before noon delivery? 76k ain’t chump change. (unless you’re Bill Gates!). Or better yet, tell her to drive over and pick the darn thing up

Walmart (I think) has money transfers as well. I’d seriously look into Walmart or Western Union. You’ll pay a fee I’m sure, but the money will not go to anyone BUT the person intended.

Peace of mind over 76k might be worth 100 bucks :+1:

That is a lot of money. People make mistakes, but make sure to money proof it next time.

I have put a stop on the check and the money is back in my account, It just is not in my sister’s hands who needs it.
