Trustfire Mini X3 Pro

An interesting offing from Trustfire that I really wanted to like more than I did. What do you guys think?

I was disappointed in my X3 Pro. It lost some of the things that made the regular X3 great without gaining much in return:

  • Size - The regular X3 stands out from the competition mainly due to its small size.
    • The regular X3 is one of the smallest non-keychain size flat flashlights that incorporates a laser and UV.
    • The X3 Pro is much larger and loses this advantage. It no longer stands out from the competition. Without its size advantage, the X3 Pro is just another flat flashlight… and one with some disadvantages like an inferior UI.
  • Metal Button - The X3 Pro’s metal button looks nice, but is too easy to accidentally depress. No way would I pocket carry it without lockout. Unlike the regular X3 whose rubber button requires more pressure to activate and is unlikely to activate accidentally.
  • Regular X3 is better in my opinion. The brighter max output of the X3 Pro is nice, but doesn’t outweigh the disadvantages. If I could only have one, I’d pick the regular X3 over the X3 Pro.
