Trustfire Z1 and Olight I1 magnets drilled and installed , how to !!

Well this one is simple but keep in mind when u drill , 1/4 bit btw, make sure u dont get to close like i did or u will leave a small dimple ,, i used a mini drill press , i shouldve used the gauges but both lights has different depths so i just eyeballed it ,, the olight has alot thicker mass , i used 3mm thick neo magnets and on the olight it is flush in the hole that is how thick that baby is ,, the trust fire is half that thick ,, and u dont have to use a press because u can see it anyway so a hand drill will work ,, get the hole started and then use one of your old drill bits and cut it flush and then make a V in the middle to get the point the first drill bit flattened so the magnets will be closer to the surface for more stick ;)

how i did the dril bit,, used a jewelers tool to make the cuts , like a dremel just sounds like a dentist tool , lol

that dimple i was referring about, almost went too much, lol not too bad though

see the magnet behind the spring

these r the magnets used , i use them for batteries to

Voila

and my olight beside it , didnt think i needed to take pics of it ,, same thing just deeper hole

Nice job on the Olight !

I did it without drilling. I had some small magnets, 12 mm in diameter.

I took out the spring, put in the magnet in the center hole in the end cap.

Fit perfectly. Now the magnet hold the spring and when the cap are put on

the light, it can be held in a horizontal position on all ferrous metal.

Mousewheel + held STRG-key helps with image size when 100% option is used BTW

Yes but if u drill it out it will be very firm hold ,also on olight is too thick without drilling
Thanks guys for fixing the pictures:)

Quite right. But for many without the proper equipment there will be a great risk

of making a hole in the endcap.

I was just trying to tell that putting a magnet inside without drilling will

do the trick just as well.
