From my experience… Its just not worth the risk of waisting you money. Just stick with the M6 and pay the small premium to get so much more flashlight.
The problem though is that the emitters in the 8x light from FastTech are not CREE. They look like the Lattice Bright emitters that are made to look like CREE. Those LB emitters are soooooooo bad :_(
It seems like the emitters were one of the last things SRK’s skimped on for cost savings, so I personally would assume that if it has fake emitters, everything inside is probably as cheap as can be.
As far as throw, the less emitters the better, because it allows the individual reflectors to be bigger.
Yeah I’m worried “Authentic” is losing it’s meaning on Fasttech. Their own product pics don’t even have “Fandyfire” on the light. (as if Fandyfire carried any weight anyways)
to be honest, im also interested in a golden 3x king. i still have one 3x golden king that is in stock form that is in the good format.
i have about 6 kings, all black or gray and are all heavily modded.
i would like another golden king. 3x or 4x is great also.
The XM-L2 versions do not throw as far and do not produce a nice vibrant colour onto the targets I find.
The golden versions seem to be mostly of a better build IMHO as I have bought about twenty five over the last four years.
I have bought them for my family, friends and myself.
I still have a variety of about six at home amongst my rather large collection.
I returned about five and got refunds for them from two different sellers on ebay which I shall not name here in this forum that had bad wiring, loose switches or intermittent failures to produce a constant light output.
well, i just went ahead and ordered me another from lightmalls.com since the two golden ones i have bought from them were both good ones. but they were both bought like years ago…
but this time i ordered the xml2 version instead of the t6 version. hope i didn’t make the wrong decision.
the t6 version was the one with better reviews also, but i went with the site’s stated lumens of 2000 vs 3500.
even though i know its fake.
the last goldies i got were securitylng and had threaded emitter plate.were sold on ebay 18.99 shipped.ordered the last 9 seller had.he refunded me for 1 as there was an inventory mismatch.new model many bad return.you mod these so not want.
seller was upfront that the new ones were no good.and apparently comes here.
i told him how to take them apart to inspect his new batch.and they were as expected.burn up specials.
so unless he gets a good batch and tells me they are built like the original securitylng unfortunately the days of good 3 xml goldies are over.
i just ratholed my last 2 for the future.
