Where are your flashlight reviews? This seems to be your first post here in BLF (Welcome, by the way). Not questioning your bona fides, just curious.
The TS10 was easily the best bang-for-the-buck 14500 light at $20 as of a few months ago, and even at the $29 I paid for my v1 back in 2022 at launch.
At $10 it’s simply a steal. I already have three of them (despite my strong policy of never buying more than one exemplar of each light) but at that price, I’m strongly tempted to buy a 4th one…
It delivers 1650 lumens
Where have you got that number? Official specs say 1400lm, and even in the best conditions (immediately at turn-on, 6000K LEDs, etc) no review I’ve seen indicates more than 1454lm…
I also tested the 1-lumen moonlight mode overnight
It’s actually more like 0.1lm in stepped mode and 0.009lm (!) in ramp mode, according to 1lumen.. Which is even more fantastic, the TS10 sublumen output is perfect for many of my use cases, and it has no preflash nor any other artifacts (unlike some other, much more expensive, flashlights).
and it barely drained the battery despite being on for over eight hours.
I haven’t tested (nor seen anyone ever testing) that, but I can well believe it: in moonlight mode most of the current would be feeding the driver (which doesn’t consume much). But what about some numbers, like what voltage was the battery at when you started the test, and at what voltage did it finish?
I am going to be reviewing flashlights on my YouTube channel TheLightingExpert1. As of right now the channel is under construction but I should get by first video out sometime later today.
The TS10 SG (which is the one that I had purchased) was 1650 lumens due to its usage of a lower CRI efficiency emitter. The TS10 V2 (which I order and is still in transit) is 1400 lumens due to its usage of a higher CRI emitter. Also the moonlight mode is 1 lumen because it is around the same brightness as the 1 lumen setting on the TS12. The official specs say that the lowest mode (H1) is 1 lumen. I wish I had a lumen sphere to test it but I don’t have one at the moment.
Thanks for both clarifications. Re: the plain TS10 vs the SG, it was confusing since your post and your link mentioned just the plain one.
And congrats on your up-and-coming YT channel – please let us know when it’s up, we can never have too many flashlight channels to watch
