Two dedicated throwers

Hi guys

After many months of work (I have little free time :_( ) after many hours of testing and error (drivers damaged, leds damaged, focusing hours)

I share with you my two new best throwers

The first on a Courui host

Making the base of the pill

Making the diameter adapter for the driver

New pcb for the tail switch

New silicone tailcaps

Some part of work on the driver

Already assembled

To compare with the TN31

TN31 on the left (480kcd) Couriu on the right

With sunshine, in full daylight (TN31 on the left, Couriu on the right)

Couriu vs sun

As a result of all this work + 600 kcds  ANSI lumens in high mode, 275 kcds in mid mode and 61 kcds in low mode…

I am more than satisfied with his performance! some time ago it was impossible dream these Kcds values in these sizes.

I have pending make a centering to cover the connecting wires of the led star
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The second flashlight is a host of Small Sun ZY-T08 it is basically the same job executed in the Couriu (same led, driver, same settings) but in a much smaller size, sorry! of this, I do not much detail in photos :frowning:

Making the place for the pill

Housing for the driver

New pcb for switch

With his partner

With this configuration, in this size :open_mouth: 396 kcds ANSI lumens in high mode, 180 kcds in mid mode and 40 kcds in low mode…

Really incredible values :open_mouth: I had to put to charge batteries and review old mods to verify the proper functioning of the lux meter and yes! if it works well.

This new (at least to me) XPG2 S4 with many amp it is really amazing compared to the old R5 Bin, with this, my old mods have very low values, now with time, time of updating old mods

I hope you liked it, any comments are welcome

Thanks for watching

Impressive! Good job!

Really nice work. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post this for us. Good job!

Very nice. Any chance of some night time beamshots?

An amazing job!

Congratulations.

Sweet. Thanks for sharing and very nice pictures.

An excellent work here.

Fine craftmanship. These lights not only are excellent performers, but they are also absolute stunners “under the bonnet”.

Many thanks

Many thanks!

Thanks, I’ll try, I do not have safe areas close….

Thanks Lfatman!

Many thanks

Thanks!

Many thanks!

Wow, wow, WOW! Awesome job on those lights. I can't get over the output you attained.

Many thanks JohnnyMac!

Wow! I didn’t know that the Courui can produce 600kcd and the T08 can produce 396kcd nowadays! :open_mouth: Great job!

By the way is this the driver you use?

How much current the XP-G2 S4 is seeing?

Great Work.

Many thanks!

Take into account that it is only the host of Couriu and T08, nothing is original.

Yes! this is the driver, it is modified to work very nearly to 6A.

Thanks!

This is incredible work to get these #'s. Congrats! I'm curious bout some of the mods done here - looks like the reflector was drilled out to make the hole much bigger. Can't recall if that was posted about - didn't know it would help so much. Also curious about the driver mod - you have it shown broken down, but not sure why or what you did there.

It looks like you converted the COURUI and T08 to a 2S cell configuration - great way to get the amps cranked up, which the de-domed XP-G2's need.

Results though speak for themselves - very impressive!!

how did you modify the driver? Can it work on 3s?

Many thanks Tom E

Yes, the hole of the reflector was enlarged on the lathe to achieve the correct focus (is not Couriu original reflector)

With regard to the driver I had to reduce in height 11mm (there was no place) then I had to find the right value of the sensing resistors in this process damage several leds :_(

Yes! both work with 2 batteries in series to operate the buck driver and give much current.

Yes work fine with 2 or 3s

“Not safe areas” as in the neighbors might complain? I think that neighbor complaints are really one of the true tests of a light’s output, so I wouldn’t worry about it. Light ’em up and rate it 1 to 10 on the neighbor complaintometer.
