Typhoon Haiyan - Any reports from BLF users in the Philippines?

Our condolences go out to everyone in the Philippines right now, looks like it was pretty much devastated by Typhoon Haiyan. Probably thousands dead, according to initial news reports. So sad. Any BLF users in the Philippines that still have power and an internet connection? This will be one occasion when their quirky flashlight “hobby” turns into a real lifesaver.

I am in Makati, which is just outside of metro Manila. Heavy winds and rains last night, but other than that ok. Compared to those a bit more south (in the Cebu area), I feel for them. That area is the same as where that 7.something earthquake hit and they are still recovering from it. :frowning:

edit: no power outages experienced. However, before it made landfall, I did make sure that all my cells were recharged and ready to go. Unfortunately, my DQG AA is now somewhat finicky now, so I am down to three lights - Catapult v1, H51c and H502c.

Thanks Rod for for the update!

I also live in a region prone to regular cyclones comparable to typhoons in asia although we have been spared of deadly cyclones several years now. But I know the devastation it can bring, causing death and wreaking infrastructure.
Last night I have been thinking about those ppl in Philippines without power and light and hoping that some members charged their batteries before the typhoon cut the power then I heard a loud noise and power was cut here. A power transformer from our electricity provider probably exploded or something. I was happy I had a flashlight handy and all the batteries charged.
Hope you BLF guys are ok over there.
