Ultrafire 501B XM-L 5-mode torches for $9.52 at Tmart

In case anyone is looking for a bright, inexpensive torch to give at Christmas time, Tmart is selling Ultrafire 501B torches with 5-mode XM-L drop-ins for $9.52. Not the cheapest price I've ever seen on them but a great price anyway. Just a heads up for those that might be interested.

Apparently there is left than 10 hours left for this special.

……

Nice find JohnnyMac they would make great Xmas presents but you need to fins cheap chargers and batteries.

I just looked and there’s still a little over 3 days left so if anyone is still looking for a Christmas present or ???

Also ordered 5 uf-502b’s at 6.86 each. Total for order averaged $2 per item for shipping. So wf-139 for about $7.90 and uf-502b for about $8.86 shipped

So, when i’ve read about this light people seems to think it’s not too good, and that it has heat issues.

but maybe it’s a good budget light for this price?
and i’m not sure, is the beam some kind of general purpose, neither too throwy nor too floody?

sorry if they are stupid questions

I’ve been using a 501B as a bicycle headlight along with general use and haven’t had issues. I did cut shims from an aluminum can to fill the space between the drop in and the head to give a better heat path. I ran it on high for about 20 minutes then quickly pulled it apart to touch the drop in - it was barely warm. Keep in mind this was on a bike with ample air flowing over the light.

The light is fairly floody with a good hotspot. Works pretty good for me.

ok, sounds like something i’ll need to check out if i buy one

that sounds good, as i have a jacob a60, cheap Q5 C8 and a couple of sipik sk68 clones, i might “need” a fairly floody XM-L flashlight

i bought one. i see that they cost $11,99 now, so 20% off was an ok deal i think

i got an email saying it shipped 1 dec, so i hope i’ll have it before christmas.

I like it, but I didn’t like the driver using DD on high. Other than that, the driver is good (5-mode memory). I swapped it to an AK-47A with an extra 2 7135 (1.7A total) to control the heat and get rid of disco modes.

Sorry for hijacking. Kaidomain has a good deal for XML U2 version.

I still haven’t received mine |(
It’s been 1,5 months now, and i’ve received several other orders from china that i’ve made later. But maybe i’ll get it today then

Yeah, that is nice, and it has an OP reflector. I wonder if the driver has the same heat on high issue (DD, I measured over 4A to the LED).

Fasttech has 501s with ‘2-speed’ XP-Gs (high/low only) for about $10 as well. I love those things; they’re just like Timex watches. They might be ‘no-class’, but they’ve always worked just fine for me….and if you lose one, or it fails, you just chuck it and grab another one.

That’s nice, slightly better throw, I’d guess. The 501B format is perfect for a toolbox or glove compartment. I like it.

I recently saw someone offering fancy tubes to carry a spare 18650 battery - the dimensions (except for the head) were almost the same as a 501, but they cost the price of three 501s! I figure my ‘spare battery tube’ has a switch and it’s own emitter.
I just ordered two of those XP-G “2-speeds” - for $10 a pop, I’ll take my chances.
