Ultrafire PD32 Driver upgrade ?

I recieved an Ultrafire PD32 just before my 3 week trip to the eastern side of Canada, and brought it with me to use and try out, ( along with dozens of more lights)
i was impressed with the performance of this under-$20, single 18650-Class pocket light. its color tint is good, bright, very durable, and has a good feel for holding ( and also has a reversable clip which works great for using on a hat bib.)
Has any one tested these or also had experience with them ?
The only quirk i have is the usual 3-Mode driver found in many Ultrafire lights - High, medium, and strobe.
I am unable to determine the driver size in this light, and how this one disasembles. ( tried to take apart the head but no luck yet.

Where did you buy it from?

I’ve had no experience with it. As an 18650 light, it should have a17mm driver, or less likely a smaller one. If you can get it apart, you should be able to get a QLite or similar driver in there. Maybe the head is glued, but there does appear to be a line between the head and body.

Its this one from Fastech: > > https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10000601/1057102-ultrafire-sh-pd32-cree-xm-l-t6-3-mode-550-lumen-me

There is the seam ( the first line down from the bezel end) but it appears to be glued or locktighted.

There's a seam above the clip in the picture you posted. You have to open that. You'll either see the driver with a spring on it or a contact board with a spring on it. Measuring the width of either type is good enough.

I have opened that part several times, mine has a metal retaining ring and plastic retainer over the driver and tried to remove it, but it don’t seem to work or come apart from that end.

Well i managed to get it apart ! it does have a 17mm driver in it, now i just need to find a place to get a good 3 mode ( with no strobes ) driver for it. ( one with a firefly-mode woudl be good too.

Qlite sounds like it's the way to go for you.

Did taking the driver out take any special measures?

Qlite from IOS, will be four mode with moon, three mode without.

i had to work at the plastic retainer ( as that was pressed in) then the driver was just beneath that. is there any links to find the Qlite 4-mode driver ?

i had a look for that driver, with no luck. Do you knwo of any links where to buy it ?

It’s funny how they get away with using “PD32”

WTF China?

Very true, ita almost identical to the Fenix PD32, ( except this Ultrafire version as the solid Acrylic lens.
