Uniquefire HS-802 green

Not a bad idea.

I stopped selling red and green drop-ins for the c8 and hs-802. It takes a while to get the focus just right on these lights. Shims, spacers, filing, grinding, etc. Manufacturing tolerances from china are bad, bad on the cheaper lights. Would need to send the whole light.

Where did you get green and red XP-E 2 emitters?

Mouser

Done a red xp-e pill for my Solarforce M3, 1.4a driver for fox hunting.

Going to do a green one next just to try.

Cr*p, mouser is not accessible to me :frowning: but thanks for the info, I will just have to wait until others start to sale them…

Edit: Yes it is (mouser, accesible), but shipping is 20$ …

but not with star :open_mouth:

Attempt 1 XP-E green:

it looks much better without magnification :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry for the delay. Been out with some bruised ribs from a fight with an ATV and the ground last week. It looks like I have some options to improve this little experiment of mine. I was aware of the fact xpe would have been a better choice, but a similar light in the same price range just doesn’t exist. The one thing I noticed about this light was the size and shape of the beam. Too me it’s just right. I assume upgrading the electronics won’t change that aspect too much, correct? I’ve tried white lights, they flat out do not work on black pigs with a black/dark background. A couple of months back I was sitting on 4 wheeler (yes, the same one) scanning the tree line with a couple of different white lights and came up with nothing. I decided to make a move, started the 4 wheeler, rode no more than 50 yards and almost ran over two big ol’ boars. They were close enough I spotted them with the one working muddy headlight on the ATV! Coincidentally, they never reached the tree line. I have to say that was quite a rush.

changing electronics won’t change the beam much. changing from xre to xpe won’t change it much either.

dedoming WILL change the beam significantly, ie much less spill but farther reaching spot

if the pigs there don’t spook with white, you might do a little better w/ a warmer tint of white (beam color more like the atv’s halogen)
