Unprotected 18650, any special treatment /

As above I purchased some unprotected SenyBor 18650(panasonic 3100mah).
As these are my first unprotected 18650 do I need to use/teat them any different to my other SW protected batteries ?

Keep an eye on the voltage to make sure it never goes above 4.25 or below 2.5. If being used in a multicell light make sure they are of the same voltage.

Thanks for that, I know when I got them, they were way under 2.5V but seem to be ok now they are charged, they certainly have way better performance than the AW.

Why were they WAY under 2.5 volts when you got them?? I thought they were supposed to be 3.6 volts

I seem to remember HKJ’s suggestion that using two unprotected cells wasn’t something he would advise people to do. Me, I listen to the guru, and only ever use protected cells together.

I’ve no idea why they were under 2.5V when I got them, I have no control over that, all I do know is since I put them on charge and started using them they are working perfectly, have much more staying power than my AW protected cells anyway.
These are 4 x 18650 in my fasttech fandy fire uv-s5 and my fasttech SRK.
