iffy switch, selling $12 free ship US for someone to love, fix, mod
is good suggestion in comments below on how to fix. YES, works, have done that multiple times in the past, no longer for me, but I know someone will want to do that.

I do not remember the lumen/specs info, and they have of course long since upgraded LEDs and models.

So, here is the deal, it does not work well. I first signed up for budgetlightforum 2013, as had much trouble with switch, light works fine, but would flicker on off.
This forum was helpful, I did take apart switch, cleaned it, worked much better! thank you!

However, problem continues to return/clean work/return. So, while all overall works, as in 2 light levels, LED, etc it still has a janky switch and I’m selling it as I know Fenix is great body/parks and I’m sure there are those here who would love to fix, mod, whatever. (For me, I’ll be reading here to research a new rock solid dependable not need tweak light)

Otherwise, overall clean, with normal wear for bought 2006. With original holster and lanyard.
$25 US and I’m willing to be told if that price is silly high (or low).

And my apology in advance if break any etiquette sell/message/respond - first time selling here. (sold/bought plenty on eBay, so no worries, know how to paypal, pack, ship etc )

Found my original sale on Amazon, a reviewer had the following. This is from an Amazon reviewer, not Fenix, maybe even older model as I thought it had more lumen. But perhaps helpful.
Some fluff, yet overall has how works etc. But really, you all should know this for a Fenix.
(now I just need to figure out what to buy to replace this)

The Fenix L2T is a true 5 star product. Not just because I say so, but a flashlight review site said it.

I’ll just break it down in terms of features.

100,000 hour LED bulb lasts for over 11 years continuous use!
Gives regulated light output on Alkalines, or Lithiums.
Sleek and stylish.
Two brighness levels by twisting the head. 3w and 1w.
Push button clickie.
Waterproof
Includes a belt sheath and wrist lanyard.
Type III coating. Not the cheaper Type II, like a Maglite.
Polished metal reflector, not chromed plastic.
Anti-reflective coated lens lets all the light out.
Last and not least, aircraft grade aluminum body.
It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it is bright. Doesn’t matter if you leave it on high or low, just click on and off.

At 3w it gives 55 lumens of regulated light. Compare that to the 24 lumens of an ugly, unregulated, 3 D-cell Maglite. Twist the head to low light for hours more use.

Not to mention it has the nicest beam you saw on a flashlight, if you never owned an LED one. Nice bright spot, and good spill beam. The light is pretty white with just a hint of blue if you look for it.

When the batteries have significantly weakened, you will no longer be able to switch from high and low mode. While the difference may not seem significant to the eye, it makes a difference to battery life. Remember, your eye is always adjusting to light it receives to keep you in a regulated light source, so it’s not the best measure to gage a flashlight.

OK, no replies yet… I’ve apparently had the price too high? And maybe so high that everyone is polite enough to not say anything nasty, as I’m newbie. (been here a few years, but only really posted to get fix tips for this same light and then now to sell).

So, please, go ahead and let me know what this is worth to someone.

More on how broken it is. Light works fine. When it works. Just that sometimes it won’t turn on, except with some more twist un-twist etc.

Is the issue the twist switch, the tail switch (that is what I torn down and rebuilt before)? Anyway, anyone find this useful to own, mod, etc, go ahead, let me know realistic price I should be selling at. thanks

You might try removing the head and cleaning the threads and contact surfaces with alcohol. It could be poor contact here that is causing the flicker.
(this happens of Fenix E21)
For the tailcap/switch, make sure the retaining nut is tightened fully. Really need a special wrench to get in there on those 2 holes to get it tight. Many Fenix lights are reverse thread retainer as well. (Fenix E21 also has this issue)

I may be interested in refurbing a light like this; I would upgrade the LED to current XP-L or XP-G2. hmmm. not sure what I would offer though. Give a try to fix the flicker problem(s) Putting an XP-L V6 3D neutral white in my E21 gave it a new life.

thank you. actually when I first signed up for budgetlightforum, it was for this light. Got similar suggestions. And it WORKED. Don’t have or know about the special wrench, but otherwise, striped down as much as could, cleaned all up. Much better. But then slowly over time, would get worse. And again.

After doing this several times, and not have special contact gel or new parts or other suggested fixes, realized, that while I believe in fixing, not junking, that did not want a light that needed continual work. Maybe this is normal for all lights, and I’m being foolish, but it seemed that this one, needed more upkeep than I wanted.

I have done this with simple old fashioned D cell, filament lights for my parents. I’m OK with some of this if normal for newer light. However, I’m not going to start buying update parts, special tools. Just want to walk the trail at night and not be surprised by skunks!

So if someone wants what is a solid Fenix body and wants to fix it, all yours. Update in price. $12 with shipping.
