I think the problem is that he’s in Australia (Sillen) or the Czech Republic (Petr J) and he’s trying to order from Amazon USA. So obviously the shipping is going to be higher compared to him ordering it from China which has much cheaper subsidized shipping. Everyone should choose the shipping that works best for them. Don’t choose shipping that is going to be super expensive. This should be common sense.

Maybe Petr J is getting high shipping costs from Aliexpress due to him being in Czech Republic? I’m not sure.

I was under the impression the 21700 C8F’s from amazon were the units with the good drivers. I ordered one to compare to the 2 I have. Sofirn has replacment drivers on the way so I guess I need a 3rd driver. I thought the issue was fixed. Oh well, guess I will contact Sofirn if it does not reach 3000 lumen. The 2 I have didn’t even test as bright as my 18650 c8f’s.

No lumenometer, so can’t say how bright mine is, but I did notice a bit of an “upward fade” when I kicked it into turbo.

Does that indicate an old driver that needs a fixin’?

No, they all ramp up slightly on turbo.

The difference between the old driver and the new driver should just be the MOSFET. The one on the old driver has a little bit more resistance in it so it doesn’t draw as much power on Turbo. I got 2 extra amps on turbo by swapping to a better MOSFET.

You’re right. The cost of transport from Amazon is high. When ordering on Aliexpress there is no problem. The shipping price is low. That’s why I buy Aliexpress. I already have a flashlight in your cart. Sofirn is a very correct company. I have about ten flashlight from Sofirn.

It is just for buying misc things that might not be listed or if there is additional shipping costs due to the buyers location. So if an order needs $4 more added to it, they can click a quantity of 4.

I have literally no use for the tail switch, so for me a swichless tail would mean:

less size
less weight
lower resistance

Neither of these is really huge. If Sofirn never promised such tail, maybe I would have ordered C8F with a switch at some occasion already. But since I see on the horizon a variant that is better for me I prefer to wait.
OTOH if Sofirn now announced that they resigned from making the switchless tail, I would be less eager to buy than if I never waited for it. That’s because I am already used to thinking about the better variant and purchasing the light with a switch would mean a downgrade. But I would probably accept that downgrade when given a good enough price.

I could live with the switch no problem (’though it can be a bit confusing if the light doesn’t turn on because… e-switched off? tailswitch off? tailcap locked-out? any or all?), but it’d be nice to have the switchless option for a strictly e-switch model. I’d be okay with an add-on purchase for the switchless cap.

And being able to “switch” (haha) between either of the two caps would let you tailor the light to your immediate needs.

I ordered a blue SP10B on 11.11 from Sofirn Official store. So far they haven't shipped it yet. The status still shows "Awaiting Shipment". I think I might need to extend the processing time on AliExpress web page tonight. I don't want to see my order being cancelled automatically.
