Updated driver for older Convoy S2?

One of the very first lights I bought years ago is an older Convoy S2 (not the S2+) with smooth reflector, 'cause I wanted a smallish thrower. I knew going in that it had the 'blink' driver, the one that flashes once a few seconds after ON for memory. I'd like to update the driver to something that does away with the 'blink'. Four modes (Moon>L>M>H) or three modes (L>M>H) is all I'd want. I'm happy with the light's performance otherwise.

Suggestions please?

I guess a driver with Biscotti firmware from Convoy Store itself (AliExpress) will give you those options
And being a 17mm driver, it will fit without issues on the S2!

Depending on the number of 7135s on the driver, it may be soldered to the pill. So it could be a minor pain to swap it. This driver from Convoy is what you want. You can select which modes you want.

Just swap the 105D (blink) for a 105C (stars).

Eg, https://www.illumn.com/leds-drivers-optics-mcpcbs/8xamc7135-3-04a-selectable-mode-driver.html .

Thanks Gentlemen!

The IIllum driver is back-ordered unfortunately. Although my overall experience with AliX has been much less than stellar in the past, Simon's Convoy store has always been perfect. I'd prefer to deal with a U.S.-based company, so I'll sign up for re-stock notification on Illum. I've lived with the 'blink' light for this long; a few more months isn't going to make any difference.

There is also https://mohrlumens.com/ but they have run out of stock for most things at the moment. Still they have the SST40 5A driver with thermal stepdown. XM-L2 official limit is 3A but they have been used at higher current on FET flashlights like the Astrolux S1 all the time, given the stepdown they should work fine, or you could use the 50% max group if that feels safer.

Another US source is Mtn. This driver with the optional Guppydrv universal firmware is similar to the Convoy driver. Programmable mode groups and stuff.

Or the 17mm 5A driver from Mohrlumens. This one has a lot more power, so it depends on the LED you are using.

I’d suggest the one from Mtn, and while you are there buy some LEDs and parts to build a crazy triple or something. It’s fun.

BLF A6 driver. Pretty cheap and works really well. I use it in loads of lights.
