Hi guys, I’ve got a few older lights similar the ones below, running an MC-E and SSC P7. Just wondering if i’d be able to solder in an XM-L U2 I have lying around? They will fit easily, both on 16mm sinkpads, just not sure on voltage etc?
I have same sort of question. I have a C8 with T6 I’m hoping to swap an XPG2 into without driver change. I wonder if it would work. Would a simple re-soldering be all that is required?
I'm pretty sure that you can swap emitters from MC-E, SSC P7, etc., because I'm pretty sure voltage/amps is still the same. I did a recent P7 upgrade to XM-L2, but I went with a SinkPAD copper star and a driver upgrade to get the amps up - original driver was really weak.
Joe - definitely T6 to XP-G2, but things you have to be concerned about is amps and centering/fitting it into the reflector, and if you get a decent beam pattern out of the reflector. I believe the XP-G2's can take a lot of amps, but others are concerned about it. Of course always better on copper stars!
