Any recommendations for a good budget USB rechargeable light? Anything from flashlight, headlamp, lantern is interesting.
The Nitecore Tube Rechargeable was the first to catch my attention but $10 seems pricey for what you get.
I like lights with a good long runtime for a solid EDC survival kit light… good for camping, hiking, emergencies etc.
For the longest while I stuck with AA and AAA battery lights. The idea of a USB lithium device is growing on me.
I like how almost any time any where I could recharge my light using a PC or phone charger. Every day theres more and more lights in this category hitting the market.
Also what BLF subforum is focused on lights based on a USB rechargable battery? Maybe I just overlooked something…
The Tube is a decent price for what you get. It’s much brighter than most of the button cell lights and the price difference between them and it is about the same as a pair of replacement button cells.
Comparing apples with pears. One is a keyring torch, the other is a battery pack with an LED.
I have 3 Tubes - two for keyring duty, one as a backup light in my hiking kit. They’re very small, weigh nothing, don’t get in the way and put out an impressive amount of light. The convenience of being USB rechargeable is just a bonus, but one that gives it an advantage over most of it’s competitors - other keyring torches. Good bits of kit.
I do not consider an 18650-powered light and/or power bank with a non-removable battery like that one from Banggood to be acceptable. The essentially non-removable battery in the Tube has an excuse due to the form-factor.
CooYoo makes the Quantum, a 10180 cell 2 mode twisty with USB charging. Claims 130 lumens, 1 hour charging time. A very nice keychain light but expensive at ~$30
Be careful what flashlight you buy. beacuse you want the built in charger it could be dangerous if the flashlight is not from a reputable company a lot if chargers over charge or incorrectly charge lithium batteries
I also recommend the nitecore tube it is a great light…
how about use B38,though it don‘t use AA/AAA,it use 1*18650,if I misremember it is 650lm,and can use USB.And it is not too heavy,I am not sure the price, but you can check on alibaba.
